Sure, and it's also because of the rhythm and speed of the drama...
Chinese dramas take time to build the characters (maybe the first 10-12 episodes to really understand what it is all about)
so my advice if you want to watch any "long" Chinese drama, just wait until you finish the first 10-12 episodes, then decide wether you want to continue watching it or not!

If you want a few recommendations, here are my thoughts...
for school/college romance: take a look at (Master Devil don't Kiss Me, Love o2o, Back in Time), all of 'em are good options!
And as for medical romance: Surgeons (it's on air)!
and if you want a drama about self-development, try (Best Get Going, Pretty Li Hui Zhen)

Eternal Love contains 58 episodes, but I enjoyed it, the same thing for Legend of Chusen, Stay with Me, and Rookie Agent Rouge..
It's not about the number of episodes, but about the writing skills of the writers :)
and of course, your own taste, I prefer romance and thriller, other prefers romance without any thriller or action ...etc.

My advice is to wait til you finish the first 10 episodes (which are about why all this happened) then you'll really enjoy it! just be patient!

I love this drama! maybe because ZLY! and the story is quite good, maybe the only negative thing about it is the visual effects and I think this is normal in Asian dramas anyway!
I recommend this drama to anyone who likes Legend of Chusen, I'm still watching around 33 eps. and I'm hooked!

and if you can't get enough of (Love O2O),
I recommend (Boss & Me)! you'll feel good whenever you watch it! and for Legendary Journeys, I'd recommend (Eternal Love), (Journey of Flower) and (Legend of Chusen)!
If you're interested in mermaid(or merman), then (The Starry Night, The Starry Sea) is a way to go!
and for new dramas, I'm waiting for (Princess Agents), (Above the Clouds), (Long For You), (In the Name of People), (Rush to the Dead Summer) and there're more!

Have fun!, JoF especially last 10 episodes are the best - and a lot of tears-, LoC the only problem is the ending of season2, but overall they are beautiful dramas:)
