Is there even any other American/western drama that has this absolutely insane "real"-touch like this drama has? I feel like I know the characters in real life.
After all, I can say that this drama just could have been... much better. The setting is unique for a Korean drama and there is so much they could have done with it. Remove all the over the top-comedy and weird "situations/scenes", and just make it serious and intense until the end. Everyone would have been happy with that.
I say it again, this setting, with this cast, this could seriously have been a classic with a better writer. What a wasted opportunity.
Not this actress with her plastic face. She looks so fake and unnatural
PSJ has been really unlucky with many of his dramas. Witchs Romance, She Was Pretty were completely destroyed by a plastic main female lead. Now its time again?
All in all an excellent drama, but would have been even better if it was cut and packed into 16 episodes. I am the biggest Hyang Juk fan but it seriously dragged halfway through and there were many really slow parts - 8/10.
Ending also felt rushed. While it isn't horrible as some say, it just felt lackluster.
Is it only me or has the story become very very slow paced? I know it has always been a slow burner in a great perfect way, but somehow its just getting...slower?
Please be good!!!! The last drama from this writer had a very draggy second half (Jealousy Incarnate), hope she has gotten everything right this time! Really hyped!
I think why some people get annoyed is because of how good this drama actually is. If someone said that "Shawnshank Redemption", "The Godfather" or "Schindler's List" are boring, on the specific discussion boards about those movies, fans will react. This is seriously one of the best and most REAL dramas to ever come from Korea of all time, there is no doubt about.
I'm sure some will hate me for writing this, but I personally think that if you find this drama "boring" you are too young, don't understand or have experienced harsh adult life, or just out for drama "quick fixes", you need instant stimulation.
Still, of course you can write that its boring if you want, if you need to.
An airing "boring drama" does not get a 9.1 out of nowhere. Just my 2 cents.

Will be very cautious of the next drama from this director/screenwriter.
