> RoYi making a sick old man kneel down and beg for forgiveness. Dae Hee did many bad things but that part just came off as weird to me. Was that supposed to be the BIG moment the whole series built up to...? Making a shaking sick old man kneel down? Couldn't they have done it in a better/more satisfying way?
> RoYi out of nowhere confessing to DaMi, while escaping from gangsters...
> What was the love triangle even supposed to be? RoYi only had a few scenes with Nara in the beginning, as students, but he kept loving her for years for some reason? Then BAM suddenly hes in love with YiSeo, a character he saw as a sister (like someone else wrote) throughout the drama, and literally had no chemistry with? ....??? Don't tell me that they fell in love during the 4 year time jump, if so you need to show it to the viewers. This is not good storytelling.
Also what happened to the dambam team? It felt like they never really were a team more like random people who had a few side stories that led to nothing. Like Tony? He was only a plot device used to touch "social issues", but in the end? They couldn't even include him in the "final fight" for some "we are a team-feelgoodmoments"? Not only Tony, everything.. so much wasted potential.
Was it needed to make it into a gangster movie the last 2 eps? It was not even the good gangster stuff, it was sooo lukewarm, no tension and no buildup. And then in the middle of it we have the sudden love confession, while they were escaping for their lives.... It made me laugh out loud, so cheesy!
I think Itaewon Class started out great but like many else mention, the second half left much to be desired. The writer had great ideas but used up all of them in the beginning (story flow etc), as it progressed it just got worse and worse. The writer simply failed to put together a satisfying consistent story for 16 eps. I think the writer sucks to be honest. Also it doesn't surprise me that the director is the guy behind "BIG", which is not a good drama...
I might sound very negative, but thats how passionate I am about this show. I really wanted to like it more than i did! I REALLY DID!
