Cho Na

Park Ji Hoon in a comedy drama? Looking forward to this! He played too many serious characters...

It's better than marrying a rooster or a chicken. In historical Chinese dramas, a bride may have to marry a rooster/chicken if the groom is not present.

Can you give me the link with Indo sub? Just put on spoiler or dm me, thank you!

Finally... no romance? 😂😂😂

I wrote an editorial article on the drama. Most of the answers are in the article. You can check it out. The link is in the Discussion section or on my profile.

Light romance, just hugging. Romance is not the main focus.

Light romance, strong friendship

How do you know it's HE?

Ao Rui Peng with long hair really a scene stealer...

You know that China makes everything, right? Including cellphones that work in the middle of the desert...

Sorry, I've been busy writing articles for my website. Updated now as of 8 June. Will look for the good links for the last two dramas (Litchi & 7 Relics).

What do you mean? He has a happy ending. I am glad that he stays friends with Zang Hai. I thought he would die...

Lan Yong Ji, Marquis' subordinate. Zhi Xin killed him.

It's A Tan or Ming Tan.

Ep 8

It seems the character development in the drama is about Shu Jing Ran and not Yun Yi. He, from being a follower of his parents' arrangements, to offering himself to be independent and take on a task to rebuild Lingzhou.

In the novel is quite different. Yun Yi left to travel the world. Since I only read the last chapters, I don't know how she's able to leave the Jinyu Guards. Shu Jing Ran keeps getting career promotions in the capital. However, he refuses marriage arrangements, nor does he take concubines. Rumors have it that he's either impotent or gay. Until much later (I assume years), he gets a letter from Yun Yi saying that she'll bring back Lingzhou roasted chicken if he likes.

Both novel and drama acknowledge their social status difference, but they don't tackle that issue, which I was curious to know how.

Regarding Yun Yi, I think her ending with Shu Jing Ran makes more sense and realistic for that time period. Most employment back then was for life, the subordinates were devoted to giving all until the end of their days. Yun Yi herself pledged to follow Jiang Xu as a Jinyu guard all her life. Remember the convo between Ming Tan and Yun Yi after Ming Tan found out that Yun Yi is her secret guard. Ming Tan says even for her maids, if they want to leave her and have a better life, she'll let them go. Then Yun Yi pledged she'll follow Ming Tan all her life. So, Jiang Xu giving Yun Yi a long-term task to accompany Shu Jing Ran to rebuild Lingzhou together makes more sense, if not, she'll never leave the Prince/Princess of Dingbei.

Up to Ep 23, she's still undercover. But I read comments below, her cover will be blown in 24 or 25.
