It was cos it shows again what happened at the beginning of Ep 1. But, the modern time is still confusing, cos we saw them lovey-dovey in Ep 19 while she's telling him about her dream. But in the beginning, he wanted to commit suicide because of their divorce and his being mentally sick. Then she got hit by a car (?) and was in a coma.

This is funny, I read discussions below questioning the kiss emoji on the calendar for Ep 27-28... because seems too early for Shen Yuan and Yi Ning... some speculating probably for the other couple as happened in another drama before...
