7. Favorite Character of 2024
I have more than 1 this year. Weiwei's kind, doting but oh so shrewd Tushan Jing from Lost You Forever S2 (I know some folks might classify LYF as a 2023 drama. But LYF Part 2 was screened in 2024, so yes, Weiwei is definitely getting on this list. LOL 🤪💪😁) Neo's sexy demon with a heart Zhu Yan from Fangs of Fortune Wang XingYie's dashing in red Duke Su from The Double
8. Standout Secondary Character of 2024
I have to go with
Liang Yong Qi's tragic villain Shen Yu Rong from The Double. The villain had what was coming for him, no escaping his karma. But it was the accumulation of events that got out of hand and poor management of bad situations that eventually led to his downfall. I felt that he did love his girl a lot but did not do it correctly. Even Wu Jin Yan who acted as Jiang Li in the drama, who was supposed to hate him said in an interview she started crying when filming the scene where she bade him the final goodbye. She felt it was such a tragedy for the villain, like WHY did it end up like this? I guess in another life, these 2 characters would have been very happy together. So for being able to make so many people hate him, as evident from the number of people scolding this character in mdl's The Double page, I have to say good job Liang Yong Qi for a brilliant portrayal of a tragic villain. His end was beautifully tragic. Loved it!
Oh...and of course...Yan An as Li Lun from Fangs of Fortune. Dang it, this villain is so so FINE! 🤤 And this one gets a redemption arc. Sighs...another tragic villain.
If this was 2023, I would include TJR, who acted as Zhuo Yi Chen in Fangs of Fortune. He was brilliant as Gong Yuan Zhi in MJTY. He acted well in FOF but I really liked his portrayal of Gong Yuan Zhi in MJTY.
Seems like Q8 turned into an essay for ChunTian. LOL 😅😆😁

I caught Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty S1 from 2022. Loved it. Looking forward to S3.

MJTY has a BE for Gong Shang Jue in the novel?! NOooooooo....that guy is so cool! 😢 He died for his girl? Please tell me it was a good death and not some senseless one.
The Kunning Palace 💩 was more toned down and hidden behind the excuse that Xie Wei had PTSD and sometimes acted out. Not the best reason, but ok, I can still somewhat accept that. For me it was more about the characters, I felt that Zhang Zhe loved our Lulu's character purely and whole heartedly. He loved her for being her right from the start. And he is such a gentleman. I wanted him and Lulu to end up together, but Zhang Zhe is not the ML here, Xie Wei is. The ending where Xie Wei ended up with Lulu felt kinda forced to me.
Anyways, things are working out well for the Zhang Zhe actor, Wang XingYue. I am looking forward to this handsome fellow's next drama. And to know he is soooo young, 22 this year! A baby in the industry. This young man will go far. We will be supporting him. Go go, baby boy!
Weiwei looked so delicious hot as a villain in Rosy Clouds. Dang! Such a waste. I was also impressed by his horse riding in the drama (via the BTS). I think he should be able to handle a gallop. How much more sexy can he get? 🤤 Alas...Unable to see him as a sexy villain. We will have to wait for hie other drama Divine Tree then.

Yes, these costume Cdramas are such a treat for the eyes. In MJTY, the 2 "brothers" Ryan and TJR are like the cool kids on the block. Ryan was sizzling with his FL in that spa pool scene. Whew....sizzle 🥵 TJR was like a GOTs Geoffry. So deliciously devious. Loved it! Hated the ending though, like come on Edward Guo, what kind of 💩 ending is that if you are not planning to give us a S2 for MJTY. DANG YOU!!! LOL.
Not all the snake fans are so delulu, some have a good head on their shoulders and try to put things into perspective or share their POV respectfully. But a good number of them are just nasty and go about imposing their POVs like it is the only one. Like folks, you will still stay with a guy who beats and roughs you up because he displays loyalty to you? Good for you if that is your standard, but it's not everyone's standard. 😅 I get that 🐍 went through 💩 but it is not ok to break your love interest's leg to show displeasure. That is abusive even if he loves the girl. 😅 Anyways... fox got the girl. 🦊🌸 The end. LOL
I am looking forward to Weiwei's Diving Tree drama in Jan 2025. But I think his Rosy Clouds drama is a goner with the copyright issues it is facing. Sighs....

I found the snake an interesting character as well and my heart went out to him. He went through some bad 💩 too. But at the end of the day, I still think 🦊 is the best fit for the gal.
I did not like the way the snake fans attacked the character Jing and there seems to be a lack of understanding of the power of the filial piety card played by Jing's grandma that forces Jing to obey her. And somehow whilst attacking Jing, it spilled over onto our boy Weiwei. Tsk...

From what I read, apparently none of the A listers wanted the role of Jing despite being offered the role. Our boy Deng Wei went the traditional route and auditioned for the role no one wanted and got it. He is perfect for the role of Jing and ChunTian has been gushing about him non stop since seeing him in LYF. LOL
But be warned, the S2 did the role of Jing dirty. I will not spoil it for you. Watch it first and we can discuss when you are done.

Ahhhhh...That scene! It was a very dramatic scene! We were too deep with the poison by that point. I remember we got through that scene with lots of tears and tissues. 🤧😭
