Found LYF a great story, it was well paced and story well told in Season 1, but Season 2 was a hot mess. There were super sweet scenes between Deng Wei's character and the FL. Theirs was a fight so hard for their love story. But Deng Wei is not the ML here.

I think MQG / RR's personality is a great match for bratty / macho man SYS. LOL You need to watch it till the end then you will see why.

You are not alone in being annoyed by MQG. SYS also found her super annoying (at first...LOL) but he came to realise that all she did or made him do was out of care and for his own good. MQG was a tough love kind of shifu. She puts on a tough exterior but has a good heart. When SYS realised that all she made him do was to help him, he too soften up.

MQG's personality changed later on after she became RR. But the essence of MQG was there, sassy, kind and brave. Read the novel too if you can, both MQG and SYS are intertwined way before they were born in the mortal realm in the most adorable way (imo).

TTJ is suddenly feeling reluctant to leave the Ye Mansion. He reminisces about the time he spends with YXW. Dude, you've been "love poisoned" and you don't even realise it. LOL And BOOM the person he misses appears before him. YXW uses a sketch charm to create a beautiful fireworks display just for the 2 of them. Followed by a snowball fight... Awww...if only they could have more happy times together.

Lan An: Only your tribespeople will care if you have enough food, warm clothes or if you are happy. We can shield you from danger guard you and protect your life.

And all TTJ can think of is YXW / LSS. He's already sold on her. Save your breath Lan An.

PS. That green & beige outfit LSS bought for TTJ looks warm. And dang, Xixi has the slimmest waist ever!! Puts us mere mortals "to shame". LOL

Lan An, why did you come now? I think TTJ could use a few more happy months at the Ye Mansion with LSS.

The opening scene of a happy family hanging out together on the eve of the Spring Festival. It is indeed joyous, light hearted and warm even if TTJ was sulking in the corner. LSS peeping at him every now to check on him, YZY gambling with his "mothers" (aka his father's other concubines) and probably aunts. YQY in a daze about Foxy, Daddy Ye smacking him back into the present. LOL Just a loving happy scene.

Grandma must be loaded...she gave out a tray load of money, even ChunTao got one!! And a special allocation for her favourite grandkid YXW that can last 1 year. Awww...grandma you are too biased!! LOL Even LSS feels the warmth of this family. No wonder TTJ chose this moment for his Bore's Dream.

Talking about be careful what you wish for. LOL

And we conclude the episode with LSS showing kindness to the old madam selling fireworks out in the cold. I think TTJ had become acclimated due to so much unkindness dished out to him, that sad scenes like these no longer faze him. But seeing LSS so sad with his comment that her small contribution cannot help the old madam, he somehow felt compelled to comfort her saying at least old madam could call it a day today. It shows TTJ has a good heart.

They enjoy their first mortal world fireworks show. First for LSS who is from the future and first for TTJ the hostage prince who was never allowed outside.

TTJ sulking outside the clothing shop and is pleasantly surprised and even touched that YXW remembered she owed him a warm winter outfit. She even ordered a few more for the other seasons. Awww...LSS, you are a sweetheart. TTJ was so surprised that he stood there for quite a while when she told him to change into his new clothes.

Ahhhh....YQY and Foxy's forced first date. LOL They look like a sweet couple.
YQY, Ms Foxy has her eye on you. She is making so many excuses to make him have a next date with her. And so he owes her a cup of tea now. LOL

LSS observes TTJ looking about like a lost kid and realises that TTJ did not have much a decent childhood and wanted to buy him a toy. Awww...LSS you are such a sweetheart.

Ahhh....TTJ and LSS's first date together, shopping for New Year goodies.
But TTJ is sulky and lagging behind whilst trying to figure out where the source of the demonic power he senses is.
He tries to sneak away from LSS but she is alert and grabs him back and makes him eat a snack. LOL
