Well JE was a stupid mistake that costs a lot here it's a different case and believe me whatever the story is talking about at this point they'll be very careful at everything

I rly like the way you think it's so realistic and reasonable not just twisting words and speculate other ideas like what you said in here "Therefore, it's completely plausible that the June struggle is not shown in great detail in the drama" I thought same too tbh and after reading the statement over and over i concluded a lot of stuff like with suho the 1st male lead i have 2 possibilities for him:
Either he's not a spy at all but he knows important secrets that makes him suspicious or he's a spy but for the good side maybe they sent him to NK and pretending there that he's one of them since jtbc confirmed twice that there's no glorifying to the spies which will be offensive to the victims so let's remove the possibility of him to be a bad person
And for the 2nd male lead i still don't get it vey much about him Like when they said here "The reason we described the NSP agent as “straightforward and just” is because he is a secret agent who turns down the chance to be appointed to a powerful position in his country and instead works overseas after he is disheartened to see his colleagues “creating” spies instead of “catching” them. He is also portrayed as a man of principle who turns his back on the corrupt organization and does what he thinks is right." By this you can see they spoiled a little but it definitely one of the things that i need to watch the drama to understand it not just analysing it with words since there's many hidden stuff we don't know yet and i absolutely trust all those who are woking on the drama and they definitely won't offend their own history

Yes please don't trust just anyone if you did watch the movie 1987 you'll see why the reaction by knetz were like that but here's the thing....jtbc already said TWICE that there's no distortion to the history neither to the real characters when they removed the Young Chu name is to stop those speculations about the reference to the real characters they literally said it's an Imaginory story that satirizes the presidential elections taking place in the 1980s it's actually a whole other story than what the rumored plot refer too but again like i said in previous comment there's a leak of trust in here and it's whole misunderstanding and do you know how i assumed that? Because i was looking at reality considering the writer background and quality of work and the orgins of her and who ever is involved in the making of SD from cast to production team to jtbc who will never ever dare to offend their own history and risk their careers and money and hard work for nothing,even their enemy won't do such a thing
I truly believed in them and trusted them and it turns out to be the most right decision i ever done in my life! Plz guys i have high hopes for it now plz look forward to snowdrop cuz i sense some good quality drama is coming to us!!!

Anyway whatever it is the only thing we can all do now is waiting for the drama to air then we can see finally if there's really anything that can by any chance harm the history and offend it

Do You know that DC gallery sent a protest truck in front of jtbc building? And do you know that they will stop sending because of the RISK TO BE SUED BY JTBC? ......can't be more happier to see some quick judgementers (if this even suppose to be a word XD sorry bad english check) wasted money over those trucks and then struggling to get back the money to those who participated .
Let's make it a lesson even to us for not quick acting and doing stuff based on a thing we see from unofficial places .

Should we feel relieved now or not yet :') ?

If jtbc and the production of the show are still going that means there's no distortion they won't dare to continue if it does really offend their history it's just sounds now that it's a very big misunderstanding since nothing is making a sense
I choose to trust the cast choice and the writers and jtbc they're Koreans themselves why would they try to change the history and insult it? That's dump af actually and since they already worked on sky castle i don't think the quality of the show is going to be lower it's just that most of the people us international or knetz themselves didn't trust them

Guys you know what i just realized.....that the only confirmed thing is the cast!
Like literally no more no less! So we really doesn't know what snowdrop is talking about,
And all of sudden there's rumors that say that the script is insulting the Korean history? And from korean people?
Plz the writer her self was a student in the university when all this happened she must witnessed and lived the tragic more than those who are saying that the story is insulting!
Okay let's make things clear now
Me as an international person ofc i have nothing to talk about when it comes to their history but i did a research about it and i can't be more sad about what happened back then
But i can judge the knetz who are concluding what the plot is talking about based from some speculations and rumors!
Let's be real now the writers, the team of production, the cast and jtbc won't dare to insult their history for the sake of a drama ,not jtbc trying to defend it yet you still believe they would risk their money and their time and their reputation for nothing! They literally said “Snowdrop” is not a drama that disparages the pro-democracy movement or glamorizes being a spy or working for the NSP" And "it's about a black comedy that satirizes the presidential elections taking place in the 1980s" AND!!! "We firmly reiterate that the accusations going around about “Snowdrop” are unrelated to the drama’s actual content or the production’s staff’s intentions"
Knetz didn't trust them! They didn't trust all those who are involving in the making of snowdrop who's btw are KOREANS TOO!And definitely knows the history and won't never ever dare to harm it in any kind of way
And cancelling the drama won't solve a thing they're just requesting the easiest way to destroy dramas from now on since it's becoming apparently a popular thing out there
And when i saw the date of those rumors i found that they were published 7months ago!!! So i assume that after what happened with JS they can talk about it now?
So in conclusion i guess this thing started by some haters and drag most of the koreans in it so they will make more noise about it and that means they're all fell in very big misunderstanding and this drama is still going to be aired and all that petition and that money wasting on protest trucks are going to be useless

PS: for the reference of the names don't ask me i don't have the answers to it but i believe they'll explain everything is going to be in drama sooner or later.
