ep3 scared me but ep4 seems to be heading in the right direction. The first two episodes were okay, the third was a hard one to watch but the fourth actually very enjoyable.
The comments being so divided is honestly so cool. I see many being very disappointed about it all, others loving it, and the rest being so confused. I truly think that it should be watch in one go, the way the series is cut is a bit rough sometimes. I loved it, probably in my top 4, maybe 3 ??? Hard to know. But at the same time I understand why people don't like it ! I think this might be the most hit or miss type of bl I've ever seen. You can either love, or hate it. The in between is rare.
i truly think the build of confusing point and unclear things are made on purpose so that they can all come crashing down on them in the lasts episodes. I think we all know where it’s heading, we just have to wait and see.
Am I the only one bothered by the fact Dohee is (not so subtly) pointing out how he's wealthier than Juyeong when…
yeah they made it obvious how uncomfortable JY was with how much DH’s was showing his wealth. You can also see it how YJ rented a car because he thought DH wouldn’t like to be in the van. I think it just highlights how there’s still a big gap between the two and their relationship isn’t even close to be like it was before.
This is it, this the series that is going to end up making me crazy. The ep 5 and 6 are a MESS but it feels like it is written to be a mess. The characters seems on the verge of a mental breakdown litteraly every seconds. We have DH that doesn’t want to even think about his problems, while he seems to clearly need it, and there’s JY that wants to do well and wants to TALK, because pretending things are fine isn’t going to work out. Really these eps are the perfect example of why communication is key lmao. This bl is going at an incredible pace yet isn’t that fast at the same time. It feels like we’re already past the time where other bls stop, when they meet again and get back together. What I was scared is that obvious issues in their relationship will be forgotten and other exterior conflicts will be added taking the attention from the original ones. I’m very happy to see that they both know they are far from really getting back together. Even the ending of ep6 seems happy, yet DH knows that he’ll need to talk. HE will need to do it. Argh very excited for the next eps, I think people who didn’t like the previous eps won’t like these ones because there’s clearly the intention to make us confused.
It’s really sad to see the bl community so divided. There’s people who only watch bls for the cute, couple,…
I totally agree with you pain for the sake of pain is just stupid. I also prefer darker series and even more so when the characters actions are justified, or if not logical have a reasoning behind it. Sadly I have yet to find, in a bl at least, a character who has done similar thing as DH that were justified in the series. The only that could make me really disappointed in this series would be if the reason they gave us behind DH’s actions is as simple as ‘he was scared’ and and then yj forgives him and here comes the fluffy stuff. Because literally anything else, if you put more thoughts into it, could make a better explanation. The problem this series has is that the first eps are too good to have the rest of the series follow a typical bl plot. I have yet to see a bl that really commits into its darker themes and have a realistic approach on how it could affects its characters. The closest thing I’ve seen is gray shelter and even then it’s far from being perfect. Reading other comments made me realise that, no I also don’t think the next eps will have good enough answer for why Dh ghosted him for 12 years, and I’ve accepted it.But I also do think that what we have gotten so far is enough to make it watch-worthy. Even if it’s bothering, I don’t think it’s enough to be justifying dropping it. I tried to get spoiled from the previews, so idrk what os going to happen, but I hope that if Dh actions aren’t well enough justified, yj will as angry as the people in the comments, and be very fucking angry at him. If hds couldn’t find a good enough explanation, then make it part of the story lol
I want to express my honest opinion on what it has showed us of rn (until ep 4) as the comments are quite divided and VERY opposite on how they view the show. Please feel free to disagree with me in the replies, I think it’s a very interesting and I would love to read some of others people opinions. I want to start by saying I have a very positive view of this series and I don’t think it will change regardless of the next eps simply because this type of bl is perfectly fit to my liking and is really the vibes I look for when watching a bl. That said it doesn’t mean I’m completely blind to the worries that people have rn as some of them are completely legitimate. It just that I don’t think that even if these worries turns out to be true, my view on it will change. Let’s start with the good. I wanted to talk about the overall quality of the series but I think that most of can agree that it’s really there. Acting and the shots are always on point !( The fact that most of the shots are either at nights or inside really make the cold of the place go through the screen, which I love). I’ve seen many people complaining about ep3’s editing, can someone please elaborate on that bc I really didn’t see anything particularly strange about it. But the main issue that people are encountering comes from the story and the characters. Many of the watchers have expressed doubts with the future of the series as the first two eps are very reminiscent of tms s1 and eps 3 and 4 are a mix of the last ep of s1 and the first ep of s2 (at least of how the story rolls out). Since I loved tms I don’t mind it, but it’s fair for many to first to be reluctant with the nexts eps and also to be a bit bored ( Which I hope is not the case for most of you bc apart for how the story unfolds as of rn, how can you tell me that lftcot and tms are similar). Another thing I’ve seen is people hating the series bc of DH. To that it really depends on how you approach watching bls in general. I personally really like when characters are show full of flaws, because they feel more relatable and human, and when a character can be called a bad person in some situations I think it’s just an more accurate of the human life and it’s something I really enjoy having in bls. DH character seems to be heading in this direction. But some don’t like this and prefer good hearted characters and if they are not, will not like a series. But that’s just not really that you don’t think the writting is good, but more that you just don’t like these types of bls. Which is a totally different problem and isn’t really lftcot’s problem. However one thing that is true is that, with such an harsh 12 yr time jump and a abrupt change in one of the mc behaviour, I think it’s fair to be a bit lost and expecting a solid reasoning behind it. I think what we has been shown already is a base for the characters complexity, particularly on dh’s side. I just hope people be a bit more mindful in what they write on both the people who love lftcot and the people who don’t like it. This show isn’t finished yet, we’re only halfway through and I’m confident in the fact that the future will answer most of our questions so don’t be hasty to write how you hate dh and he’s just a terrible person. Maybe that’s most probably how they want us to feel about him rn. I think the fact that it’s still very blurry why he’s acting like that is quite literally part of the experience of watching this series. That doesn’t make lftcot bad just incomplete, because it quite literally is. Since I think he’ll obviously turn out to be just a conflicted character with severe trauma of the abuse he had over the years, I’m eager to know how they’ll justify how his actions that he had in ep4. I think that’s the only plot point that really is fair to criticise if it isn’t up to it with also the very big time jump that can be a turn off for some. The rest just comes down to preferences and not really the quality of the writing.
God, these comments. If you don’t want a complex series with complex characters, don’t watch a Hwang Da Seul…
It’s really sad to see the bl community so divided. There’s people who only watch bls for the cute, couple, lighthearted stuff and people who like more deep and serious bl. I think both are completely okay because everyone should watch what they like. But it’s true that people aren’t open-minded enough to see what the other side has to offer. With Hwang Da Seul’s works it makes me really sad seeing people not taking the time to appreciate it and even more so when in her bls you can always find some sweetness to it and it is even more sweet because it’s covered in a more bitter layer. Plus people should at least wait till the show is finished to be so mad at it.
