This is novel based, so I can't say for sure: BUT in the novel both FL and ML survive and they even have children together. Epilogue even has some sexy time. 2ML dies by the hands of FL, but he is an immortal so he's just sleeping for a few thousand years. Hope this helps <3
NXY is totally selfish and wants XXC to die. BUT he was also ready to sacrifice himself to keep his promise. He is obsessive but at the same time he knows that it's wrong and punishes himself for that. So I guess he isn't reaaaally bad. Defo not a good deed either.

I read the novel so spoiler alert:
ML eats the lotus flower and goes up the 38000 steps to meet the god of time. (If you remember the woman who forgets each day again and again, he takes the same path as her.) He then pleads to the god of time for a way to change FLs fate and he returns to the past. ML can't change anything in the past but meets the young FL and saves her from the massacre when she was young. That means the future ML is the "big brother" the FL is always talking about. He then realizes that he gained the pearls power when he went back in time, so he sacrifices himself -basically dies- to give FL back her power. FL revives. FL understands that ML is dead and threatens 2ML.
I LOVE the blossoming love. Amazing Cast! FL is SO friggin cute I can't. . .
Btw did anyone else notice: I just started on Moonlight Mystique and realized the actor Han Dong plays the "evil demon master" in both series! (Sang Qi and Zhen Yu) He looks cool in white and black hair!
