That was sooo epic, can't wait for the series to start finally! Been waiting for it for a long time but after this trailer I'm so hype I can't wait anymore. Letsgooooooo~
Thanks for the review! I just finished this drama and totally agree with you on the ending. The show was really good but the last few episodes and the ending felt rushed and I couldn't even care much about Miho's death either although I liked her character. If they build up her death properly I'm sure I would have cried my heart out. But this way it just felt like they killed her so that the finale could be a drama and just didn't hit as hard for me as it should have.
This drama was amazing! Definitely worth the 50 episodes runtime. Every single episode was entertaining, the pacing is good, OST is beautiful. It's a journey, a must watch! One of the best dramas I've ever watched and by far the best historical one for me. Anyone who is thinking about starting it and is afraid because of the 50 episodes...just DO IT! You can take your time. You should take your time with this. But when you finish it after watching for months you'll crave for more, treasure this beautiful story and remember it for your whole life. <3
OH MY GOD That ending slayed me! Where are you december? Can't wait for the second season, and I'm happy it's just a few months we have to wait and not years as with lots of other shows with more seasons. Loved this series, it was amazing! My only hope is that we can still see Jung So Min at some point in the later seasons, I loved her acting as Mu Deok!
I don't think she hates the lead actress. She even wrote:" this "comeback" drama is a punishment that Seo Ye Ji…
Yeah wanted to quote the same thing. I just finished the drama and read this review and found nothing going against Seo Ye Ji or any of the actors/actresses. deadlilies, I agree with your review. I started only because of Seo Ye Ji even though I'm not into makjang dramas, but I have no idea how and why I managed to finish this series, it was very underwhelming.
It might be a small scene, but Dang Gu and Cho Yeon deserve each other they both so sweet.
Yes, I'm rooting for them so much! But in this particular scene you could see that Cho Yeon also likes Dang Gu even if she haven't realized it yet, so I think it will happen.
JUST IMAGINE! Just imagine if they dropped all episodes of season 1 on us! Imagine 20 nuclear missiles like episodes…
Totally agree with you. Some series are just much more enjoyable watching weekly and discussing it with the community while everyone is waiting for the next episode. This is one of those series! So hype!
- Our usual Park Jin and Maidservant Kim tsundere love scene with the scarf - Maidservant Kim putting the scarf on Hemp Master Lee - Seo Yul, Park Dang Gu and the Crown Prince putting their heads together to solve the exam paper for Mu Deok - Jang Uk and the Crown Prince's conversation when Uk returns to Songrim after escaping...and the Crown Prince putting the biscuit away - Dang Gu and Cho Yeon "Should we break up" scene - Mu Deok and Jang Uk confessing to each other Today's episode was another masterpiece, hilarious and awesome as always :D
Me too. Haven't found one dull moment. Not one. I hang on to every scene like I'm seeing k-drama gold.
Definitely listen to the original from Oh My Girl, it was my favorite song of 2020, I love this song so much. It was also featured in It's Okay to Not Be Okay at that time :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HW9EY8FgwVc But it was really funny here in Alchemy of Souls because at first I was like "Hmm, this is a good melody what is this song...omo it seems so familiar, what is this?" And then a few seconds later when it hit me and realized what song it is I jumped out of my couch lol and started crying and smiling at the same time in my happines xD
Two episodes in and this is already my favorite drama of the year so far.
Yeah, I feel you, mostly I also prefer light-hearted shows with no hate and backstabbing and toxic characters. But for me because of Seo Ye Ji it was a must watch. IOTNBO is my favorite drama of all time, I love it.

Oh and Business Proposal was also a really good entertaining one from this year. Twenty Five Twenty One as well, but for me it was too long, should have ended around episode 10 and then it would have been an amazing series, the story felt too stretched in the second half, but that aside it was really good and had a unique vibe.
Two episodes in and this is already my favorite drama of the year so far.
I'm planning to watch Now on Showtime as well. Also, I'm watching Eve from this season and I'm surprised how much I like it, even though I'm not really into makjang dramas. I started only because of Seo Ye Ji, but it is good so far. I like Alchemy of Souls better, but still... :)
Another amazing season, loved all the performances of the show. All the groups were great and could defenitely improve more through participating in Queendom. Congratulations to the winner, well deserved! I'm so happy that Bona joined for the last few episodes, WJSN was really not complete without her. Love all the groups, keep up the good work Queens! <3
