I loooove what this show is doing. They’re really taking the basic premise and things we loved about the JBL version and giving us a fresh story.

Boss and Mo both having these clear memories of Heng being a sweetheart and falling for him as a result and Heng being utterly clueless each time is sooo funny to me

P’Shahkrit is also so funny. That whole scene of him shaking with jealous rage with his little coffee cup killed me

Earth has made Heng so charming and adorable, kind and sweet. Like I get why people would actually fall for this airhead loser lol
I think the overall tone of the show is very Thai, which is what you want in an adaptation imo. It’s fun and sweet so far

Earth looks so adorable in these new posters! Even if we didn’t already know, his expressions in both posters would give away who the endgame couple are haha

Rewatched this recently, still love it, but definitely forgave a few things back then that bug me now:
1. Rich asshole Tian’s mommy and daddy steal a heart for him with their money and he then proceeds to treat it like crap. I remember joking about this when the show was airing but wow that was shitty. I know his guilt was part of his motivation, but for someone who knew he got a heart he didn’t deserve, he really treated that heart poorly
2. Mix is really bad at emotional acting. He scrunches up his face hard but there is not a tear to be seen and it just makes me laugh. Apparently it’s his first big role though so I get it but the praise for his acting is ridiculously overstated.
3. Phupha really didn’t get a back story. He’s the stern green flag who protects that town with his life, yes, but a deeper exploration of his motivations would have been great
4. I still don’t know why anyone was upset with the villagers or Phupha for getting upset with Tian. He was knowingly manipulating them all with his knowledge of them gained through Torfun’s journal and straight up lied over and over by not owning up to whose heart he had even after the chief and doctor figured out he was ill. Then when he had the chance to clarify, he muddied the water instead of explaining himself. I’d be pissed at him too

Overall, this (and Be My Favorite) is still my comfort Thai BL. Loved the villagers, the kids, love the chief and doctor and all of the background characters. The music is beautiful and those last two conversations between Phupha and Tian on the mountain top will stay with me forever. I hope those two are happy for as long as they have

I’m curious to see if they combine Ossan’s love and Ossan’s love returns into one series in this Thai version. I also hope they don’t focus so much on the humor they lose the pathos; the deep, affirming relationships the characters build across the two seasons is what make OL great

Still finishing up, but I literally stood and applauded for Su Su episode 34. I’m so proud of how far this woman has come and so happy she was able to help put that monster away.
I nearly cried at that last confrontation with her mother. It’s a pity she lives in China with its weird rules around filial piety because it’s been a while since I met a character who so deserves to die alone and miserable. She’ll be going straight to hell.

Also, the most unrealistic part of the show so far is that a garbage person like FXW would just suddenly discover his conscience and let you go.
I highly recommend everyone read “Why Does He Do That?: Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men.” Protect yourselves and let’s protect each other

What kind of misogynistic society is China that your husband can just quit your job on your behalf or call and turn down a job offer on your behalf. That’s crazy right???

My favorite thing about this show, and I have a lot of good things to say about it, is the relationship between Rose and Su Su. The definition of platonic soulmates. I love how honest, sincere and loving they are with each other

I don’t blame her at all. It’s easy to see from a distance things that we would all absolutely miss in the moment.
Don’t forget, that guy he beat up physically abused his wife in public and shoved Rose for trying to help her. In the moment his actions seem protective. From a distance, we can see that he likely has issues regulating his emotions

Neither guy she’s dated have been right for her.
ZGD is selfish and condescending and his mom is a nightmare.
FXW is proving himself to be a manipulative sociopath and his mom is also a nightmare.
Really looking forward to seeing her free herself from this mess

The red flags have turned into blaring red fire alarms. Rose needs to take her kid and run. Eventually, men like FXW escalate their emotional and financial abuse to physical

Also, every time Jimmy appears in the past I can’t help but laugh. That bad wig/haircut and glasses is not convincing anyone this isn’t a 30 year old man in a school uniform. That goes for all of them but 1 (Film) to be fair

I think this show would have been 1000% better if they’d focused on Prez, Pretty and Plain Ploy. The editing is also not working; would have been better if they’d just spent a couple of episodes setting the stage with their high school stories and then just focused on their adult stories instead of the random flashbacks

Also, I can’t help but grind my teeth whenever I see Punk Ploy at this point. Wish Prez slapped her even harder. So obnoxious. Poor Tawan

Prez just breaking my heart. What terrible parents! I’m glad Thap has been there for her; they’re balancing being cute together in the past and pretty sexy in the present (like wow Earth and Namtan)
I hope Prez can heal and open up to him so they can get their happily ever after

China and peacekeeping is already a laughable association for a country that is in frequent violation of human rights and is currently trying to colonize the African continent, but then you add blackface?? Incredible
