The puzzle got solved for me in this episode about his conception, sepaation of Soul and Body is the basic of Alchemy of Souls magic, remember Daeho is a magical world, were humans can have magic by reaching all the techniques. If I understood this well, Jang Uk is the most powerful man in body and soul being born out of the soul shifting of two of the most powerful men in Daeho. Dad Jang wanted to protect him, because since it was a deed from the king and he died before Uk was born King and Crown prince, would think is treason or that the Jang family used the weak king for their benefit being the contrary, so he wanted Uk to live a life where no one notices him because he wouldn't be a threat to royals or mages (bad ones) but he has fought all his life to go against rules and what they have in store for him, I think he feels the urge that his destiny is for greater things. So that's gonna be the whole point first 10 episodes will be his evolution to master all 4 techniques, then fighting against Jin moo etc. more rocks thrown at him from Royal family once that secret gets reveled, we also have the mystery of Naksu, whether the MDY body is relevant to the story....there is so much to give us.....so I won't worry about it now I will just enjoy the ride. :)

I know it is a magical world, so in essence he has Jang's gens but the king's soul mark if that's what I understand, he is the most powerful man in Daeho's being born of the two most powerful man in Daeho's basically but at the same time can be seen as treason if the new king and narcissistic crown prince find out, since they might think the jang family deceive the king for a heair that' why the Jang dad concealed his powers. I just hate they are hiding this bit from him and being jerks towards him but on the other hand if they say something UK would go wild against everyone his existence was made out of soul shifting......

why you say she was pretending,? I watched first episode twice, did I miss something? i know once Noksu took control of the body she could see prior to that we don't know anything about her we just see her been pushed away by Naksu while escaping when she was looking for a body next thing Naksu was in her body in a boat when she realize she could see (Naksu on DY body) and the guy was saying she was stomack sick and a wekling.

I think Scarlett Heart was my first on air drama I watch, I usually watche finished dramas....that's why I compare it to this on the emotions I feel back then that I only have feel with my other baby Vincenzo but Im not a good fan of real sageuks so if they put the fantasy element count me in.

Tjhe one that was selling her to the brothel say so....and also of her weak stomach and body! If MDY (body person) is important to the story we will know more of her if not they will keep her in the back burner.

My country is historical/sageuk this is period/historical/fantasy so I wouldnt put hem on same genre. My country is on my top of historical but they are 2 different genres IMO.

lol I was going to compared to my obs with Scarlet Heart back in time I didn't know others would agree, although I would change the genre from sageuks (royal political historical dramas) to period/historical fantasy.

I think he is a havoc soul shifter with the body of a rich man, powerful, or from royal rank, that Jin Moo is using for his own gain.....to me he is someone of no importance but to keep the plot of the havoc shifters, I think he will be killed by that magician that got the dog from the Jin families since he said let's get those shifters, so he is kindo of plot device since per Alchemy rules he should have be killed once they go wild as Jang Uk's dad used to do but Jin Moo uses it on his benefit....

I think he is someone rich and a lost shifter but Jin Moo is using alchemy to get money out of him that's what I understood.
