She's not a horrible mother. Her methods are mean but she's not a bad person and her son knows this too.
It's little bit aggressive but a typical mother behaviour.
But Let's just say If you change the angle of the drama Just a little bit Then she becomes a horrible character Let's say she didn't have a sad past and acted like this, then she definitely becomes the villain here.
If you have watched The glory, imagine the FLs mother had a sad backstory too. Then would that suddenly becomes a justifiable reason for her to act like that? No right? Well these two mothers are vastly different. She cares for her son. And she provided him. But still the essence is the same. It HURT their children one way or another. Neither showed love to their children. Only difference is that In glory there's no sad back story, but here we have one.
Even after he's being sick and lost his memory, she just want to marry him to a stranger. I mean suicide attempts, throwing him in water, discouraging him to pursue art, setting up arrange marriages without bride knowing he's disabled, and basically controlling him like a doll all his life. I do understand her circumstances. She has gone through a rough life. But she's also forcing that life on her son has well but in a different way. She thinks she's doing good. But it's making him worse. But just because of her insecurities, can we justify everything she does to his son? She sure loves him. But using abuse to love seems contradictory. Why? Just why? I thought her character changed after his accident. But no. Do they want to show us that people don't change their ways easily or what? At this point she's 25% good 75 bad% mother. That's a better title it seems.
