Ohhhh this drama is so good. But so underrated. The Korean TV ratings are on par with 2521. I don't know what happens with the international audience on MDL

I am into few episodes of this drama.
And I have noticed a really weird thing.
The ending of the episodes. It's so ordinary. Yet it makes the ending so out of ordinary.
All the other dramas end episodes with a climax point. This drama has so many climax points in an episode, but it doesn't end there. It just passes over it and end with an ordinary event, which I kinda have fallen in love with.

The drama is full of laughter. If you want to laugh for nutcase situations then watch this drama. Not a recommendation for logicians

This drama just flows. It just flows like a river.
I absolutely don't care about the lead couple. What I care is the 2nd lead couple. Their story is the only thing that's interesting to me.
Anyone with my opinion can watch "Touch your heart". Just consider it as the sequel to this drama but much better.

Question:- Hwal died as a Bulgasal, which means he did not have a soul, but he still reincarnated. How?Is it because…
They really didn't answer that part. May be Hwal sent an appeal to the authorities of afterlife πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Title Bulgasal: Immortal Souls Spoiler
Well I binged it and it was so addictive. This drama should be binged.
The ending is this.

Well it's complicated so this is only a summary.

I'll tell you want has happened 1000 years ago between all these people.
Hwal and Sang Un were the only Bulgasals in the world. And they seems to be lovers. And Hwal doesnt want Sang Un to leave him as they only have each other. They aren't exactly bad Bulgasals. But they have enough power to become monstereous Bulgasals. And the ordinary people fear Bulgasals even though they haven't harmed anyone (I guess).

One day a family is being chased by some bad men. So the mother and father asks their daughter to run away from them with her infant brother. While running away from the bad men, the 2 siblings gets chased by a monster who feeds on human. And Sang Un who is a Bulgasal protect the kids from the monster. The kids were so lovely so she falls in love with the kids.

One day Hwal asks Sang Un not to leave him and Sang Un says she'll never leave Hwal's side.
Sang Un keeps protecting the kids from monsters. She adores the kids so much.
So one day she leaves Hwal alone and goes to live with the kids until they are old enough to take care of them.

The kids live with the Shaman ajumma (she's not a shaman at this time) and Sang Un joins them as their new member. Years goes by and the kids grow with Sang Un. The kids turns out to be modern day SiHo and DoYoon. Hwal is so sad and angry about Sang Un's decision to leave him. But he keeps on waiting for her to return. But she doesn't.

On the other hand the former detective ajussi is born as the king (or a ruler) of the land. And he has 2 sons. One of them is Ok Eul Tae. But the king favours his other son than Ok Eul Tae. So he kills his brother and blames it on Bulgasal. The king believes him and goes to revenge Bulgasal. The king arrives at the kids House and suspects Sang Un to be a Bulgasal as she was a stranger who never ages. He confirms her as a Bulgasal and orders his men to separate her head from her body and bury it underground as she can't be killed as she is a Bulgasal.

But Hwal comes to save her from the king. While doing that he kills hundreds of people and destroy an entire village becoming a true monster. After the fight only the king and 2 kids(SiHo and DoYoon) remain.

Hwal asks Sang Un to come back to him. But Sang Un is terrified of him. In the mean time king and the 2 kids attacks Hwal from his behind to avenge the death of their loved ones using 3 swords and Hwal is greatly injured and is stabbed to his heart. Sung Un can't take this any more. So she stabs her heart with a knife, So 2 Bulgasals can die together at the same time. (Bulgasals can only be killed by that). Hwal curse the 2 kids and the king one to be blind, one to never have kids and one to have his arm amputated or something. And he swears to kill all of them in their next reincarnations.

But Ok Eul Tae comes and helps Hwal in order to take advantage from him. DoYoon tries to stop them but the king kills DoYoon in order to protect his son Ok Eul Tae.

Ok Eul Tae asks Hwal how to gain power like him. And Hwal takes Ok Eul Tae's soul in exchange for power as a Bulgasal. This makes a dark whole in Ok Eul Tae's body. And Hwal dies as a human. But before that he asks Ok Eul Tae to make him a Bulgasal again once he is reincarnated as a human.
Sang Un doesn't die with Hwal because he turned into a human and now the other Bulgasal is Ok Eul Tae. And she keeps on living as a Bulgasal.

Ok Eul Tae keeps his promise to Hwal and creates misunderstandings between Hwal and Sung Un. As Hwal's curse his father, wife and child dies. Hwal avenge Sung Un thinking that she killed his family. And Sung Un avenges Hwal for what he did 400 years ago by taking his soul to her. (Well it's technically Ok Eul Tae's soul)This allows Ok Eul Tae to keep his promise.

Modern day
Ok Eul Tae wants to awaken Hwal's monster (like 1000 years ago) and take advantage of him. But Sang Un is preventing that from happening. Ok Eul Tae wants to destroy his soul which is inside Sung Un's body. Because he doesn't want to become human again.
To awaken Hwal's monster and destroy Sang Un's soul he tries different things. In the meantime Shaman ajumma gets killed by Ok Eul Tae. She was like family to modern day Hwal, so his monstereous side kinda awakens to avenge her death. But Sang Un manages to calm him down.

At this point Hwal and Sang Un doesn't know much about their past of 1000 years. They only know they had hurt each other somehow And Hwal and Ok Eul Tae have same kinda origins and Hwal's request to make him a Bulgasal again. But they don't know the reasons for any of this.

At the final battle.
Hwal and Sung Un are both ready to sacrifice them selves for the safety of their modern family. But SiHo and DoYoon wants everyone to be safe.
So Hwal plans to lock up Ok Eul Tae in a deep well.
So Hwal, Sang Un and former detective ajussi goes for the final battle.
Both Hwal and Ok Eul Tae are injured from the fight. But their plan is backfired when detective ajussi tries to avenge Hwal for killing his young sister while trying to kill his murderous father. But Sang Un stops him from doing that. And Ok Eul Tae injures the ajussi and throws Hwal into the well and goes after Sang Un to destroy his soul. Ajussi confesses to Hwal about his sister's death asks for his forgiveness. Hwal is greatly injured and recovery would take years. So the ajussi offers his blood to Hwal and asks him to stop Ok Eul Tae. Ajussi cuts his hand and pours in blood into the well and Hwal hesitantly drinks it. Because of that Hwal gains the memory of them 1000 years ago.

Meanwhile Ok Eul Tae tries to avenge Sang Un. But fails as his dark hole bleeds. (I guess)
And both of them went back to the well to look for Hwal. Ok Eul Tae again tries to kill Sang Un. But fails when Hwal interferes. Hwal bites Eul Tae's neck and drink the blood. Then Sang Un stabs Ok Eul Tae's heart. And Eul Tae is defeated. But Hwal is so disappointed in his past life. And about his own curse for his own loved ones so he also stabs his heart to end the curse for his family. And Sang Un is crying asking Hwal not to leave. and asks him to be reborn again as a human and she'll find him no matter what. Then both Hwal and Ok Eul Tae disappear to the air at the same time.

Then Sang Un calls her sister SiHo to the place and informs them about Hwal's and ajussi's death. But Sang Un has injured herself from the fight and dies on her sisters hands.

SiHo and DoYoon continues to live in their old house. Hwal has previously promised DoYoon to reincarnate as a human, So they wait for their reincarnation to happen. SiHo gives birth to a girl and DoYoon gets married and start a family.

50 years have passed and SiHo and DoYoon are so old. But they manage to find the reincarnation of Hwal and Sang Un. They send a picture of their old house to Sang Un with the address. She goes to visit the house and she meets Hwal who was there to buy the house. And they reunite with each other. They seems to have a deep connection with each other. Even they don't know why. And the drama ends with a photograph of their previous family with SiHo, DoYoon, ajussi and ajumma hanging on a wall. May be SiHo and DoYoon left some hints for Hwal and Sang Un to figure out who they are.
