i watched the first episode and I'm so disappointed. ameiro paradox is one of my fav bl mangas bc i love the dynamic of the characters, and they kinda botched it. they left out the part about the long standing one sided rivalry onoe had with kaburagi, and failed to capture how much he truly despised having to work with him. what makes the manga interesting to me is the internal conflict onoe has as he goes from absolutely loathing kaburagi to slowly starting to respect him due to recognising the decication he has to his work, to then them getting together. they really failed to adapt this. since we don't get the internal dialogue and the actor isn't that expressive. like, onoe is supposed to be loud and snappy and annoying, and contrast with kaburagi who is laid back and untalkative. but onoe is so toned down that now kaburagi just seems like kind of a bully for being mean to onoe after stealing his girl.
anyway, I'll stop watching here since it's physically hurting me and i need to distance myself as a safety measure

i don't remember where, but i saw nino say that originally tokai was written to be totally alone, & that he spesifically requested he needed one ally, which resulted in nekota. i just thought that was kinda cool cus she was rlly great and elevated the show imo

i still love this show & think abt it often, but i just wanna express how much i hated the ending now, since i wasn't able to back when i watched it some years ago. cus per normal, i was watching while making predictions in my head, & while i may have forgotten some things over time, stuff like tokai being ruthless n unsociable, tho still in the end the most capable surgeon saving people from dying left n right, i remember thinking "obviously he's gonna be redeemed". he was living full time at the hospital, wore sweatpants and mostly ate rice he got from his mom, so not using all the money he was making on himself, u were seeing his humaniny and how he was dedicating all his time to honing his craft & ultimately doing a lot of good for people. "obvious redemption arc ahead" right? meanwhile saeki was being menacing, kinda two faced, pulling strings to smooth stuff over, exerting power and taking creedit for tokai's work?? like my theory was that saeki had like, forgotten the pean inside someone due to gross negligence or smthn else like that and let tokai's dad take the fall. then tokai possessed some evidence left over from his dad n was working to clear his dad's name, gathering information while working under saeki, who supressed tokai's talent with his power and influence to remain on top in the field, with tokai being his only threat because of his father. that theory made so much sense to me, like i thought this was an exiting mind games situation. cus saeki's career relied on him being the only one able to do the life saving "saeki method" and he wouldn't let out that tokai was able to do it too, despite the people who def would die from waiting in line for surgery bcs of him. like that is kinda pure evil on its own but "what else is he hiding" also comes to mind, he kept being too menacing for a man with supposedly pure intentions imo. like i was so freakin stoked to see it all unravel in the last episode but then it just?? didn't??? like for tokai who was working hard saving lives and making posers eat dirt, all i wanted was to see him be vindicated, i was absolutely livid and confused, like i literally don't even remember how it actually ended in any detailed way, but my rage is still fresh years later lmao T-T

uhm, i don't have real answers or anything but based on the first episode i assume it's meant to be that way. like mayb a, to make it more tasteful or palatable for a wider audience, or b, bcause a blur is cheap and people can probably imagine what it's supposed to be better then what they could create with a prop or visual effects. also the blur implies "this is so awful that we can't show it", it makes me think of traumatic news footage, makes it feel more real, at least to me & that is impactful imo

idk if you still need an answer since i didn't see this until now (sorry), but it's like, 6 years since i watched it, and i was 15. i was just shocked since if i remember right there was abuse depicted in this anime, and it kinda disturbed me. but i watched till the end or close to since it was the ending that took a turn i think. i checked and it's actually still up the same place i watched it then, but it's on what is basically a yaoi p*rn site with explicit ads on the sidebar. if you're still looking for somewhere to watch it and you're not a minor i could pm you the link, though I'd try finding it anywhere else first T-T

i would love to know more about lee kang hoon, but i just can't deal with the fl and the goofy mood of the show, stuff is just not developed. the characters are so flat, and like by the way, did they expect me to care about that delivery boy that showed up twice and then went to the hospital?? like, i don't know him except "i have food" and "i want to be doctor", and i don't really know anything about yoon ji hye either? like she has shown no likable traits so far, only "feels the need to argue with lee kang hoon despite it not doing anything good", "looking sad & stressed" and "has a weirldy close relationship with seojun or wathever his name is". what was the purpose of putting delivery boy in a car accident, and why did fl care THAT MUCH about someone she barely knows. like maybe she's an *:･ﾟ✧empath*:･ﾟ✧ or wathever, but as far as i know she didn't know him any better than any random patient, so is she gonna be that emotional for every patient she meets?? and there was barely any tension to begin with, just "oh no car accident, he needs surgery, oh ok he's fine" what?? Was the purpouse?? pissed me off to an unresonable degree.

like from the two episodes i've watched, i've only cared about ml because he's being devious and cocky which i can get behind, and has his own personal hospital resident militia, but also he's *:･ﾟ✧fragile*:･ﾟ✧and*:･ﾟ✧mysterious*:･ﾟ✧
hardworking, just as strict with himself as with others. like i want to know what will happen with his career, i want to see him be sneaky and smart, how he got where he is, what's up with him and his family. i want to see mind games and networking, social climbing. but then it weirdly turned into a romance. I'm absolutely devestated. like it'd be fine if it was someone likable, or at least someone that would make sense for him to like. but HER!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!
why. she is a literal dry sponge, wth. it makes absolutely no sense, he's her superior and teacher, this shouldn't be a thing and it's so forced i absolutely hate it. i just can't bare to see this unfold, which is why i'm dropping this show. it could have been so good, i really can see it. but it just isn't, and that's the thing that is infuriating.
