Yeah, I agree with Japanese BLs. Honestly, I just prefer Jdramas rather than Kdramas overall. I love the rawness in their cinematography. Not to mention, the way they tell their stories too.

I was in slumber on BLs for many months now. We all know there have been many BLs released this year, and unlike in the past when I always got excited whenever there is something new; always eager to tune in, now I lack even the energy to watch the new BL trailers. Well, there was one exception though. I got hyped by KinnPorsche, and while it was still airing I was a dedicated watcher, yet as the episode progressed, it lost its flavor to me. I'm not writing a long critique on KinnPorsche here, but you'll get what I mean later. As more BL were airing those months and people are constantly hyping it up for its reasons, it felt to me that some of those shows didn't live up to their hype. (I'm basing on the trailers btw) Reminder, this is not directed to KinnPorsche, but rather to some shows with repetitive plot lines. Well, there can be other hidden reasons though for some watchers, and it could be the intimate scenes itself (yes, they sell no matter how crap the story is). However I feel like those shows are just too common now, either cliche or tropey for a gay show. I mean it's time for a more realistic representation tbh, and I usually watch BLs now where they have that vibe to educate and represent, not just to capitalized. I mean the goal target audience is we the queers.

Then, I stumbled upon The Eclipse. I have heard about this last year, but I just ignored it because I thought it was just gonna be another cliche Thai BL school romance (didn't fully watch the trailer. oops). And, I'm also not following or stanning any of the actors. Lol, little did they know that in 2022 they're going to be my new biggest obsession. Back when The Eclipse was still not airing, from time to time I watch a few BLs like Bad Buddy that I believe is good, but sadly the problem is I'm not attached to any of its characters or the couple, unlike with Akk and Ayan right now where they have this strong grip on me HAHAHA. Well, everything about them just seems so right to me. Their chemistry mannnn. It's above the ceiling. No! Even surpassing the ceiling itself. There are a lot of actors who have good chemistry with their partners that I have seen actually, but I've never seen this kind of chemistry before imo. Watching this made me feel somewhat alive and I'm really happy that I watched something worth the time. Even though we still have no idea of the overall quality of the plot as it's still not complete. However, I'm invested in Akk and Ayan as well as First and Khao, so I, therefore, proclaim that I will have no regrets supporting this. Definitely!

Hii. No sadly I can't understand Thai nor speak the language 😭 😭. However, my Twitter feed nowadays is just all about First and Khao ,and so I get latest updates on them. There are a bunch of uploaded clips of FirstKhao on Safe House on Twitter actually. Even though, they are not translated, users who repost them mostly provide captions to their post, so somehow I can sort of understand its context. Though I also wish to know Thai, so that I can fully watch that show lol. I also followed a lot of stan accounts for them (there's one who can actually speak and understand Thai well), so there's also that.

Fr man. How is he hideous??? He's a good teacher actually. The most important quality to possess to be a good teacher is when you know how to care for your students. These people always associate anything with romance when he is not even engaging with it. My god! They see him as a creep since he has a clumsy nature, but then if there's a dude who is cold and borderline red flag they 'gon call him hot and attractive??! Like you blind?! I swear these people only look at appearance and not personality.

I'm here appreciating how the BGMs used are new to my ears. Mostly in Thai BLs, they like to stick to some repetitive BGM plays that are not even suited to some scenes. It's like all these production companies shared the same playlist lol. And further, they are usually so loud like a drum roll kind of sound or an unnecessary overdramatic suspense. I'm loving the mellow and jazz tones added to this series. The director really has the art to capture emotions. Indeed, music to my ears.

The great Sasawimol is emotionally exhausting.

Well life is not just about romance. My point is, how he treats his students, not just Minato which qualifies him as a good teacher and mentor IMO
