✨ ELLE+ has officially introduced Tian Jia Rui as the face of their upcoming edition .This first teaser brings…
ELLE Update – English Translation
The first time we knew him, he was still "Gong Yuanzhi" — a character filled with pride, yet beneath the surface lay vulnerability and rigid conviction. It felt as though he was born to be an actor — one capable of portraying complex inner emotions with striking naturalness. Later, we saw him again on a variety show: relaxed, humorous, and effortlessly authentic.
For ELLE+, his finesse and versatility are like rare ingredients — worthy of deep exploration and documentation.
Our team began conversations with him ranging from his over 400 stage performances, to his dramatic, action, and assassin roles set in Republican-era China, to the youthful character in his most recent drama trailer. All of these pieces paint a picture of an actor’s mastery of character embodiment — and that became the starting point for ELLE+ to choose “acting” as the primary lens through which to explore Tian Jiarui’s identity.
We began with three dimensions of Tian Jiarui: Creator, Actor, Observer
As a creator, his stories reveal a delicate process of character development. As an actor, he transitions seamlessly between stage and screen. As an observer, he reveals his own path of growth beyond scripted roles.
How does one preserve the intensity of performance while maintaining sincerity and naturalness? The first idea that came to mind was “look design.” We collaborated with Gao Ding, Deputy Fashion Director of ELLE World Fashion Garden, who’s behind many of ELLE’s most iconic cover looks.
Gao possesses a rare talent for using fashion to express contemporary emotion while sharply highlighting individuality. Even the most subtle, hidden energies — he can bring them forth with precision.
To build the atmosphere for this shoot, we worked with Feng Ruihua, a creative scenographer for many ELLE covers. She doesn’t just create backdrops — her scenes become characters in themselves: full of mystery, delight, and intrigue.
Our photographer Edwin captured not only the actor’s subtle emotional shifts with striking accuracy, but also the fleeting, powerful moments that became expressive images. In his work, light and shadow are powerful tools for shaping mood and ambiance.
Both on and off stage, Tian Jiarui carries countless traces of storytelling. We followed his thoughts as a creator, immersed ourselves in his emotion as an actor, and observed from afar through the lens of the onlooker. There remains an unwritten space in his story — filled with untouched innocence and endless imagination.
This story is like a journey — one that charges forward without pause. And in this ongoing process of “Keep Rolling,” we hope readers will witness the many layers of him through ELLE+: Not just as an actor who constantly challenges himself, But as someone who continues to grow — confidently, step by step.

Being selected as one of the 15 outstanding online series out of 80 shortlisted projects at the 2025 "Beijing Audio Visual Project" is a huge achievement. It shows that "See you later..maybe" (formerly Preview Farewell) stood out in terms of quality, storytelling, and impact.

Burning Night,
Veil of Shadows, and
Lost in Road.
At this point, I don’t even need all of them, just one release will do. Just one. Please.
