Have you watched Hyena Korean drama? I just finished that drama a few days ago and I am blown away by the female lead character Jung Geum Ja (played by Kim Hye Soo). I think she was the first real badass female character that I have seen so far in my fair share of watching South Korean dramas. Some really doesn't like this character that much bc they think she is just too brusque? Idk, but personally, in my own humble opinion, she really is unique, she has grit, and she is not your usual and typical every day strong female character that we see all the time. Plus! If you haven't watch it yet, you really should! Bc there are too many supporting female characters here too that is also strong and smart but different in their own ways. You also have this power couple in this drama that you should really look forward too! Geum Ja and Yoon Hee Jae is your power couple here! They have very good chemistry. You should definitely watch it!

Also, if I may add, Kang Yeo Joo too from Cheat On Me If You Can. She is that kind of character where she is smart, strong maybe not physically but mentally and emotionally she is. Her character there is a bit eccentric mixed with kind of slow too. But I personally think she is also can be listed as a unique and can be define as a strong female lead :)

Btw, I love these articles that you made about strong female leads! I hope to see more wonderful articles from you! :-D More power!
On Homemade Love Story Feb 21, 2021
I have nothing against with the main couple here. They are really kind and very understanding but for some reason, I feel more attached to the supporting couples (uncle Hwakse and the aunt, Jae Hee's father and mother, Hae Duen and Jun A, and most of all, Seo Ah and Na Ro).
I like that Jae Hee's father really changed and have grown so much in the story, and I like the development that is going on now with Jae Hee's father and mother. I am hoping that Jae Hee's parents get back together at the end bc surely there were soo many misunderstanding and miscommunication between the two ^^;; but in truth they both really truly care for and love each other. It is just that they always misunderstand each other a lot bc both aren't being honest especially Jae Hee's father.
As usual, Hae Deun and Jun A our cheesy couple that never fail to make me laugh :-D They always make my day, their scenes are just soo pure hilarious but cute at the same time. I like them.
Some may hate Na Ro and Seo Ah bc they were the villains in the story plus their character really is in the bad side (Seo Ah being spoiled-childish and Na Ro kind of contradictory person and kind of ambitious at the same time), at first I was worried bc I am not sure if they would stay bad or will change for the better bc of how the story progresses. I am worried that they would just stay the same and not grow at all. But after watching the recent latest eps, I am glad that somehow I am really seeing small changes from both of them. I am happy that Na Ro and Seo Ah cares for each other now. The latest ep just proved it. I hope that nothing goes wrong for them and that they would really change one step at a time in the coming eps.
As for the main couple, I don't have much to say, but I am happy bc Jae Hee and Chae Woon, well, everything turned out pretty well for them. I am glad that things are pretty good now. No more evil grandma and Chae Woon's father is trying his best. I think they are the perfect couple here in the story. So I am not worried for them.

But damn, about Ra Hoon, :0 I wonder what will happen. Why they suddenly added something like that tho? ?Especiallthat there are few eps left..

On Koike Eiko Feb 8, 2021
Person Koike Eiko
First saw her on Legal Hign drama starring Agaraki Yui and Sakai Masato. Then I saw her again in Starman with Hirosue Ryoko. I finally fell in love with her acting in Bishoku Tantei Akechi Goro. She nailed her role there as Maria (which is the complete opposite of her usual characters, the reason that she impressed me with her acting as a villain). Then I watched Ore no Hanashi wa Nagai, also Neechan no Koibito (her character there is really funny!), again she impressed me. I just finished Sekai no Ichi Muzukashii Koi, and I love her character there as well. Very underrated actress, in my own opinion.

I hope more main roles to come for her! I reaally would like to see her, too, in interesting characters like Maria. :-) And also, pls rom-com where she is the main lead!

I don't know anymore who to root for (TT v TT;;). At first I wanna still want for the main hubby to be with his wife again, but seeing the second male lead, he seems like a nice guy and a good pair with the wife. Mmmmm.... Can't wait for the next episode! :>

This is such a nice review :-) I agree with almost everything you have said. I agree that the suspense in every episode in this drama kept me on the edge of my seat and the acting of the whole cast was superb! Especially, Kang Yeo Joo's and Han Woo Sung's.

And I also agree with you that the characterization was the biggest flaw in this drama. I was hoping to know more about them, the backstories of the main characters but it felt short? (tho we got Kang Yeo Joo's) I also want to know when and why Woo Sung started having affairs even tho I think he sincerely is in love with his wife (bc in every episode even tho he is portrayed as a womanizer there were times his character showed sincere concern about his wife).

Also, I was hoping that the characters would develop more? I don't know if it is just me but it felt like the characters development is lacking, it's like we got stuck to just Yeo Joo just being the mysterious writer who has a past, Woo Sung to just being a womanizer who is scared all the time of his wife finding out his affairs, and So Hoo to just being an agent. Tho we saw Mi Rae developed from being this quiet, timid college girl (we discovered her own emotional wounds) to, finally, in the end, she became this strong and resolute woman.

I'm sorry, my English is not that good so I can't clearly express what I want to say here, but maybe I was just hoping for more :/ I was also waiting to see more of the main couple screen time together. but we always get just bits of it. Bc in my humble own opinion, they have chemistry (not that I am okay with Woo Sung having affairs).

The ending was not bad. But! I would be really happy if in case they made a second season of it :D

Anyway, still my favorite drama this 2020. I honestly enjoyed the drama and its characters. The suspense, the funny moments and especially Kang Yeo Joo's character! I agree with what you said too, that all in all, this drama was not nearly as bad as some people think it was.

I don't know why i feel na ro should be the main character jae hee just doesn't seem like a main character he…
Me too, I think Hwang Na Ro should be one of the main characters in the drama. His character is really good bc of how he has developed in the story (he developed more than Jae Hee so far). I think this is the reason why we like him bc his character has flaws, and even tho he is a bad guy there is this side of him that is kind and he truly cares and love the Samkwang Villa family especially Sun Jeong who he sees like a mother. The way he and Sun Jeong fonds each other like mother and son is just pure treasure. That's why we can't hate him at all. I do like Bitchae Woon as a character, and I feel bad about her situation but I think Hwang Na Ro just steals the spotlight in here. By the way, I also like the progress that is happening between Jae Hee's parents :D They are really funny and lovable tbh.

Addition before I end this :->
I do hope that he develop real feelings towards Seo Ah, and they both find happiness in each other. (And I hope that Seo Ah, too, learn to let go, and grow into a somehow better person. Yes she is a spoiled child, but I want all of them to be happy at the end :D )

EP 32, 33, and 34 has made me cry especially Na Ro's scenes. There is a reason why he is my favorite character…
Agree ep 34 reaally made me cry soo much (TT v TT) especially Soonjung and Naro's scene at the end.. And yes, I love how Naro's character is developing in every episode. I think his character is very interesting than Jae Hee (in my humble opinion). Actually, he is the main reason why I am watching this drama too bc of Jeon Sung Woo (Hwang Naro). Seo Ah, on the other hand, I know that her character is very hateful and spoiled -princess type, and I know her actions most of the time is selfish and immature, but I can't help but pity her and hope that she grows up thru the next episodes. (I like btw, in this episode that part when she invited Naro to dinner to celebrate his promotion and it seems like she sincerely wanted to congratulate Naro. Even asked her mom to maybe he could join them for their dinner in the house when her Mom canceled Seo Ah's plans with Naro. It just shows that maybe Seo Ah isn't really that bad and hateful at all). Anyway, I hope Seo Ah grows and develops real feelings for Naro instead.
I agree with everyone, i wish this was a 16-episode drama (TдT)... The story has a potential. A very good slice of life kind of drama. Anyway, the main leads (which happens to be my favorites!) has great and natural chemistry. Acting was so natural, and I like their characters here. Ughhhh..! I reaally hope this was a long drama but sadly it isn't. I want to see more of them, and also to see the story develops more. But still, a very good and fun watch for a short 1-episode drama, to be honest. (*´ω`*)

Such a beautiful drama! Simple story yet wonderful and heartwarming! I thought first it will be like your typical romcom jdrama but I was wrong. The drama felt new and fresh to me. I love the characters (which are all likeable!), and the romance between the main leads and even the supporting leads (which btw, Naohito Fujiki and Eiko Koike as supporting leads?! My two fave actors!) are really cute. Thankfully the ending was pretty satisfying. Definitely a must watch! I am reaally glad that I gave this drama a try. It is now one of my favorites jdramas. :3
