It's a odd issue but i don't think they mention the age of these characters high school ages run from 16-18 seeing that they on their final year however generally speaking there a couples with wider age differences so it's weird any way how you look at it.

From the flash he been there before... Going from the special episode as well as the trailer it would seem that shu yi stopped talking to Shi de and went abroad so that being said even if he returned 2years later shu yi wouldn't haven't been there nor talking to him.......
