The third brother is so useless, from the beginning I've skipped his entire scenes. He's not smart like beom su , not kind like kangsoo or even humble like chunsoo. His loveline is boring and what he did in this recent episode has sedimented him as the worst brother by far

Honestly this is becoming one of the best dramas I've watched this year, the battle of wits between ML and the villains are greatly executed, and some of the deaths scenes (mentioned in synopsis so not a spoiler) have actually made me feel both sad and angry. Although I'm not sold on the potential romantic couple yet

The main leads character was actually from a book series called grave robbers chronicles (they rob tombs) where he created some tombs with traps in the past way before the main storyline of the books (the drama is an entirely different plot )

The first episode was so brutal 😭, I didn't expect the younger sister to die so cruelly.
The disciple who pretended to be the ML and died in the MLs place was so brave at such a young age

At the time they made the alliance it was the grandfather leading the qiao clan so I guess the Wei dude had trust in him and Thier "friendship". The qiao sons may have bad reputations but I think the grandfather was the opposite. (I have a feeling that someone In the Wei family did betray the MLs family tho)

Yh it makes the FL a lot more relatable, I think the ML does smth similar as well in the future (disregarding one of his clans members mistake or smth, I haven't caught up yet with the EPs), at least the FL is trying her best to fix the grandfather mistake

Ikr she's smart (knows war tactics and knows how to soothe the people), kind, brave and she's pretty. Honestly I'm really enjoying the FL's acting , and the character itself is well written with some biases/flaws that makes the FL more enjoyable to watch. She truly cares about the people

I think the FL showcases what her grandfather failed to do , which was have courage . (Grandfather may be "caring" but he is still a coward and liar) She did risk her lives trying to save xindu's people .
Your right they could have lost the war if they intervened but then the grandfather should never have agreed to the alliance if he feared wars . In short this drama is about the Mains leads correcting the wrongs/grievances of their ancestors

Yeah I understand the FL position but not the grandfathers at all , to use heavens will as an excuse to be a coward is awful. It's a shame he died too peacefully surrounded by people he loved , whilst she's left to deal with his mistake. ( I'm glad she's much nicer )

The canal was a means of solidifying the alliance not the reason it was created. Literally rewatch the first epsiode, the Wei and Qiao heads literally agreed to "live and die" for each other . The Wei and Qiao family got Equal advantages from the alliance, the Wei protected the qiao and the qiao provided resources , you quoted the first qiao son saying that they've supplied enough to the Wei already but straight after the second son's disagree and calls this act of abandoning the Wei
a betrayal, even on his deathbed the grandfather said he wrong the Weis

The xindu people suffered tremendously under the rule of li su and during the war , did you watch the episodes clearly starting that ? Did you need see the wall covered with dead people belongings ??, the qiao family wronged all the people. I'll say it once again , the people suffered and we're still suffering till the ML came to kill li su . The grandfather did not care about these people, during their suffering he made no intent to help them. Not once did he say that he was considering the general people, he even admitted himself that he was scared of war. And no the marriage was literally sent by the grandfather

The entire verbal alliance was built on fact that both the Wei and Qiao would help each other in war no matter what, the grandfathers betrayal was not for the greater good, even tho all the states would have been involved, it would have been a way to root out the evil and greedy but now look at the situation, xindu's victims want war , bianzhou have probably grown stronger and would be a more formidable enemy and now the qiao clan lack any strong leaders. Even if he didn't want to participate in the war, why didn't provide aid afterwards, why did he sit idle for 14 years . Instead of marrying away his granddaughters why didn't he offer his life to wei shao. For over a decade he's been living happily, he died calmly in his bed surrounded by people he loved. How despicable is that ? , if he didn't want war why did he agree to the verbal alliance, how could he live in luxury after condemning so many to die

Ep 3 the FL criticises the liu dude for only caring about his citizens and gets mad that he's willing to kill the xindu people. Yet her own grandfather (whom she admires) did the same thing, he abandon the wei family and all of xindu to die (he says he didn't want war but In reality he was just a coward). I hate the fact that this drama downplays this incident so much, the fact that the FL says that the "qiao family always protects the people" in front of the ML who is literally a victim of them not "protecting the people". She even says that the ML deserves to die ? , why is it the ML deserves to die for getting his revenge whilst the Qiao clan are allowed to live prosperous without any actual repercussions ( the grandfather feels "guilty" but what use is guilt if you don't do anything to help xindu, the marriage alliance was to protect the qiao clan not an act of wanting peace)

Ep 1 - I hate the fact that the ML has to comprises for the sake of peace, he's suffered for so many years whilst the qiao clan lived in prosperity benefiting from their betrayal. The qiao family don't care about peace , they just need this marriage to save their necks. They can benefit from the betrayal but can't reap the consequences of their sins. ( Every member of the qiao household is guilty of this)
Why is it when the victims of war retaliate their seen as evil or violent, why is it that the victims always have to comprise for this so called "peace" , there can never be true peace unless justice is survived. Even if it was just a verbal alliance, how many people died because of it, how many families were stuck grieving whilst the qiao clan (and the people who lived in their land) enjoyed their lives ?

For the ML , even if it's cliché id watch it 😭, I'm guessing the SML goes a bit evil but doesn't hurt the FL , sacrifices himself in the last episode for her and that's his redemption done 💀

Honestly if mujin ends up being a villain I'd understand it , both the mother and father are awful people. It's sucks that he'll probably die by the end of the drama , cuz stuff like this is so cliché

When o beom su was staying silent whilst seri dad was screaming at him was so cool. Also since seri mom once to say close to gang su , ain't it better for her to let seri get with beom su so that gang su (soldier boy) would be her in-laws

Icl their deaths especially zheng Zheng made me more mad than sad, also what is the point of having the sixth brother. He's there for five seconds and just gets killed straight away 😭

Honestly I felt this death undermined zheng Zheng whole backstory 😭(and anaran sacrifice ) he finally learnt to live for himself and gets immediately killed by the person he loves. Also I hate the fact that my yuan had to die knowing she essentially killed Zheng Zheng . They made Zheng Zheng so strong for nothing 😭

You had no time to be sad because they all died so quickly, it's kinda of reminds of a journey to loves ending.

When they went to the future li quzhou said he only survived because yitian saved him , but li zaizai was the one who saved him ?
