when indians do musical the world gives a cringe but when the west and other asian countries do the same its something…
For the west musical, it started way before and was more globally available. It has gathered way too many musical lovers over time. That's the power of solid history
For asian musicals, they started getting famous around the world because of dramas. Dramas gathered the curiosity toward the language and when we learn a language to some extent we start appreciating it. So, here's that.
There's no such anti-mentality or irony as you think. Many don't learn Indian or don't find something interesting that naturally introduces the language to you. You might say music doesn't require you to learn the language. But you need a trialblazer. And understanding the meaning can be a great promoter.
And do you really need to feel this indignant seeing the world move forward? Look at K-Pop and K-Drama, those were not as loved as they are now back then. Maybe even hated on. Times change. Indian musical might be great but it needs time and some other recipe to show it's brilliance.
But the thing I don't like is you questing the mentality of the whole world just because they don't show interest. You want them to like something, make more efforts. Do people cringe on Indian musical really? I don't think they even know about Indian musicals. But they do cringe on Indian dramas. And that's because they are. But I've watched good ones as well
You don't need to make us feel like we are guilty towards something just because we like something else genuinely. Do people really cringe on good stuff? Let them, they are dumb. But I believe that's minority.
And I am here for the good drama with good actors. But drama offers me free good musical, and I'll take that willingly.
Now, give me some good Indian musical that even someone new to Indian culture and language can come to like. I'll watch it for you. But tbh I am not that into musicals.
Guys why is this drama rated only 8.7 that too only after one episode. It’s to early to give so less rating…
I am okay with a high rating at the beginning of a drama as it brings more viewers and the people already watching it will continue watching it for a little bit longer just for the sake of the time already invested(and the ratings) and the previous ratings get edited as more episodes air and new ratings get added by the new viewers(brought by the ratings) which in the end brings the average rating to what it should really be.
But the low rating when just 2-3 episodes have aired doesn't bring that same effect(at least it feels like that). So, I either rate it high or I don't rate it at all at the start.
Nevertheless, people should do what they want. However, people don't have to get out of their way to rate it low on purpose(some personal dissatisfaction with the actors or something not related directly to the drama) and chase away the potential viewers as that won't be fair to the energy put in the making. Not speaking for real-life douchebag actors but their co-stars that feel burnt of the hate. We can rate the dramas low and not watch them at all because of the a**h**e actor but we should think of a way of making up to the co-stars(everyone else) that get no appreciation for the efforts they put
You are going to miss out on a great show. Also, in all honesty this does not need romance.
LoL. I agree that asian dramas are the best at romance and sweetness. I started asian dramas because of the romance but few years later I was not excited anymore of the same lines and same situations and many dramas were troupes for me at that point so I started romance-free genres and there are few that are on the western level and many good ones as well. So, in my thought stereotypes of asian dramas being good at only romance will make people miss out on many top-notch shows.
Six years after I watched and loved this, here I am just finding out the female lead was Lee Se Young. How could I not know when the FL in this made a deep impression on me?
Feeling nostalgic and thinking how some dramas like have shaped me a little to what I am now
I pretty much enjoy this series and Im waiting for it daily, Im here for the romance and the angsty, then it turns…
I feel sorry for Amnesia.
They have sucked her dry and now she is just being harassed to give one last drop of entertainment. Now that she is dying, they have turned her into a zombie to use her some more. Writers are cruel and sadist, they aren't letting Amnesia die an honorable death but want her to be violated, used, and hated to the end. I know all that but I still hate Amnesia and we all can't seem to make ourselves like her a little.

P.S. - 8.7 is not a low rating at all. LOL
Comments section should be fun

Was a good premise though
Here is my prayer to writer-nim for a happy ending
