I think people spammed the ratings. No way this was a genuine rating. K-pop bias is too strong.
I am not into K-pop but I know how to appreciate a good drama.
And this is just the 1st episode

I agree and disagree.
I too like K-dramas for being 1 season complete story and not 10 seasons ongoing with lots of unnecessary plot twists and changes.

But remakes are good. If remakes are bad you can just skip it. Remakes can also be used for comparison of how the drama industry is evolving what needs change and how to compete with the better western series.

And about more than one season, some dramas (very few though) have such good and vast stories (Sweet home, Arthdal Chronicles) with lots of time and money invested into production they need a preliminary season to raise funds as well as to perceive the market popularity for further production.

Just take it as evolution with some devolution as sacrifice

You don't have to think from everyone's point of view. You just rate it based on your opinion of drama. If you think this should be rated 8 without considering the outside factor then okay
