I think my 3 top most view points/ understandings which changed at the time of re-watching it again were as follows:
1.I think I noticed that Zishu revealed his face intentionally to Wen when I rewatch the drama. On first time I thought its accident and water washed his disguise. But clearly thats not the case when I watched it again. His disguise was very high quality not washable with water or wine !
2.Also I noticed that Wen was sincere to AhXu from the begining, on first-time watch I thought he just was curious about ahxu and fell in love with him slowly while observing him.
3. When 4 sages died xu and wen had argument and how they again patched up: i missed that details on the first time watch, the way they again become friends was the first ever indication that they cant stay away from each other, lol. They were already in love but were not accepting

Oh great! I would like to watch it when I will need a change of taste again! Right now I am more than full of this particular BL theme. I tried " Manner of death" right after TU and WOH and realized: I need a change, lol. I like any genre which has innovative new plots, doesn't matter if its BL or not; but change of the genre time to time is needed to enjoy the roaming in dramaland ;) . WOH is the best in my opinion so far! Lets see whats in future :)

I tried to be 100% impartial as I have no soft corners for any particular actor or actress, not at all blinded by pinkish emotions. It is not like this series was a start with an expectation but only a hope for it being a high rated drama with a huge hype. Tbh, I found this series very boring with weak acting and direction from first few episodes itself and forced myself to watch till the end only to unveil the story. Later I have started to skip many scenes as they were full of over-acting and hardy relevant ( special version is the direct proof of that where they cut down it to the 20 total episodes). I am not at all biased with BL theme, my choice is very diverse which u can see from my watched drama list ( this list is incomplete though, I almost watchedmore than 300 dramas since 2010 and slowly updating it based on the drama I still can remember, in 10 years many emotional changes happen and it will be unfair if I rate a drama now on the basis of my 10 years old memory). So, I am disagree with it that this drama tasted bitter because I had an expectation from it for its BL theme. It was not at all presented as a BL theme, I dont know why people even bother to tag it as a BL drama and got overboard with that theme! So, I mentioned that in my review about this false hype. All my expectation was that it had a good rating and reviews.
Also, I have said before: the story plot was uniquely amazing which made me more curious after watching this half-ass presentation as live action, I tried to watch other versions. Even if the real story removes the BL theme, it still would hold its charm. No need of BL theme at all! That was my expectation while starting this drama. Wish I knew chinese, I would give the novel a try too in order to know how Nie found out everything and amazingly created the whole revenge plot. Maybe translated version available, but I far moved from this drama now. I have done the rating of each section very carefully and being impartial, that is why story and song scored 10/10, but other things dont. I would give Acting and rewatch value "0" if there was an option for it! Xiao zhan is good actor but in untamed his acting was not up to the mark. For example: the actress who played "JC's mom" role did wonderful job even for such a short duration role. Sadly, the main actors did poor job. Jc's acting was so bad you can feel the strikingly difference when u watch the anime version. I still remember the part he played just right at the moment when wY died, lol. Jc was like: I killed him now , I can go back and chill; as if it doesnt matter at all what he just did! what an acting !!!and what an editing!!!! There multiple scenes in each episodes are like that, looks so fake! Acting can look dull because of poor editing or not selecting the best out of multiple takes of a shot. Thinking that and knowing XZ as a good actor I gave it 2/10 instead. A drama always can score 10/10 only when they fulfil all these criteria in balanced way which is not that case for "the untamed". And I dont really agree with you for indicating me being a biased reviewer in such case. On the contrary your rating for it being 10/10 is very likely is the biased one, but again thats your view point and I dont wanna judge it. I will only point out things when other try to slander my review.
As per your comment: obviously the main character is WY and he is very down to earth and hold all best characters of a human can or may have. But wen siblings were not at all lesser than him. They are equal with WY in such comparison too. Especially that sister one. About killing the puppets, knowing that they are not complete dead, not a single good person will dare to kill them. Lan zhan also didnt try to kill them if I remember correctly. It to be honest really an open question: If the order of critical moment get exchanged with wen siblings and WY, I still doubt WY will be dare enough to risk whole family if he doesnt owe anything from wen siblings. In all place there is highly likely probable that he would be stopped by JC or other family members to take such extreme daring steps. Good people try to maintain goodness to a limit where they need to protect something! I am very much impressed with wen siblings for crossing that limit with their righteousness, more than WY.
If you are watching this drama due to the bl hype, then yeah, you will be truly disappointed. While it is adapted…

All i can say which probably will be repetitive that: I was and still am disappointed on this drama. Your explanations are very in line only when it follows the actual novel and real story plot. The drama version really was a trash presentation which actually an insult for such a great storyline ( I gave 10/10 on story plot, if u have noticed). This version entirely fails to portray all the sentiments of the main character WY. All I have here criticized about the drama version only. Even the presentation of real and strong character of lan zhan was presented very weakly. And same for JC character too. in addition to a failure representation of BL theme, this drama is a complete fail and messed up production with unnecessary hype. Again, thats my personal view point which dont have to match with you or any other individual! It is just unacceptable when such a great story is spoiled by worse direction and production! So rewatch value is 0 to be honest ( here minumum is sadly 1)
The bow scene would be better and sufficient if he had hit all the target without blindfolded as it was very clear that hitting multiple target with bulls eye aim itself was challenging to others and no one would have dared to do that, so I am still disagree on this over -react of WY which seems still little cruel. However, I do believe he is the best character: merged with kind, sympathetic, honesty and courageous qualities; so probably your explanation is not bad as I love and respect WY character too.
I still remember the honesty and and kindness and courageous steps of wen siblings. you are right that WY have shown first step about being kind towards them but the circumstances was not that much critical. He didnt risk his life or his family for showing such kindness. The wen king and wen princes were cruel, merciless, brutal, reckless people and going against to them was like facing death of one and only family, that is her beloved brother and for herself too. This is very basic difference to start with. So again wen siblings are no way lesser in showing character strength than WY. The kindness what WY showed to Wen siblings at early stage : Such level of showing kindness is very basic and any little better person as example lanzhan or brother of lanzhan would also done the same if they came across such situation rather than WY. So, I really cant compare! Also it is unfair to compare the character of WY at the time of seige at the burial mounds. That time WY is very very different: almost a new-born personality after resurrection; I mean more mature, less hot-blooded reckless and having experience of death which was enough to change any emotional attachment. He was like: he has nothing to loose anymore, his beloved sis died, getting killed by own brother and his self-blaming etc etc which definitely not the same as he used to be before death. The new life he can now fully devote for helping others and search for truth without risking any beloved one except lanzhan. The reborn WY is the best character ever! He was not even for a single moment got revengeful after knowing that whatever happened was not actually his fault and all he want now is to find out truth, thats it.
Finally! Thank you for writing this! i absolutely hated this drama from the ep. 7 on! I wanted to drop it but…
Haha. Thank you. You are right. I lost interest after episode 7 for real but I was naturally curious about things and forcefully dragged myself few more episodes. But soon realized that this is going no where and making me loose my patience. Then you know " enough is enough". But as I mentioned that the story is really good but the presentation is worst. So, I just googled online about the story recap and found out about it. And I am still very much on peace of mind that I didn't complete it rather I just read about it somewhere else. I saved many painful hours in this way. This drama is a tragic failure production of a brilliant plot/story.
