I live in the situation of a perpetual youth of may. Kdrama is my only escape. It's enough for me to witness this…
I know @Joy, same here lol. That’s why after watching Youth of May I go straight to watch another on going drama, Mad For Each Other, which is hilarious. It gives me some much needed laugh even though it’s also dealing with a serious subject (mental health awareness).
This drama is a reality check. That what happened in this drama in the 80s Korea is still happening today around the world. The fight for democracy, the corrupt government, the repression, the injustice and dictatorship, and so on. It’s like witnessing everything that we can only read in the news before. Youth of May will leave a big impact for the viewers.
I’m currently watching this drama and Doom At Your Service. In my opinion although the rating is lower, this drama has stronger characters, better storyline and built-up tension.
Ahhhh why May always have the bad thing. May in Indonesia is the same :( In Indonesia it happen in 1998. In korea…
@nadja violyn There was also an uprising toward the end of the 70s-early 80’s throughout the campuses in Indonesia, demanding the democratization of the campus and protesting the restriction placed by the government with the NKK/BKK regulation.
My favorite genre in Kdrama. I’ve watched most of the ones you mentioned (and love them all), and will be adding the rest in my watchlist. Misaeng also is a great slice-of-life drama.
