Despite all their blunders and stupidity, I can’t help but love Ye Bun, Jang Yeol, Seon Woo and the rest of the characters (except the killer of course). Because they’re good people and just trying to do what’s expected from them. Their mistakes are what make them human. Kudos for all the casts and crews for the great production and acting. I don’t regret watching this at all.
It surprised me sometimes how actors that usually have good, soft or mediocre roles can suddenly excel in playing the bad or evil characters. Like Kang Ki Yong in Uncanny Counter 2, and the killer in this one. He really creeps me out.
Now I understand the writers’ timeline. First few episodes they give bigger portions of brilliant comedy to hook us in. And then in the middle part it gets more balanced between comedy and mystery. Then toward the end it’s full geared mystery and thriller. I must say they’ve done a great job even though I still hate the last 2 episodes 😂
One thing that I like about this drama is the female lead character was very well written. Dongbaek is vulnerable but she knows her worth, she doesn’t let people walk all over her, she’s smart and brave, she’s kind and loving but can also be tough. And Gong Hyo Jin is the perfect actress to play the role. She embodied Dongbaek. She’s pretty and feminine, she can also looked tired and disheveled. Sometimes she’s cute, sometimes she looked so down and disheartened.
This is why I love When The Camellia Blooms which has similar serial killer mystery. The female lead there is smart and brave even though she’s also vulnerable.
Edited, they’re not even good friends 😂
