Ahhh, i finished it and it was so so so good. Usually when twists happen in last few episodes, it gets so haphazard ;however, they built up the plot so coherent that the plot twists made sense and made it so much better. The way the justice system was reformed relating to all previous cases, the way Wan'Er and Yan Chi stayed united and were a power couple throughout. When the drama was concluding, all minor yet puzzling actions of characters started making sense. This will send me into a drama slump...what do i watch that rivals this?
Watched 10 episodes and this looks so promising. Love how expressive Ao Ruipeng is with his eyes. The female lead is highly admirable, she has her own set of skills that the male lead cant surpass whilst him also being capable. This sort of dynamic is hard to find.
Completed it Started out intense and amazing but they muted down alot of the complexities down the lane. Also, after ep 30, everthing was too rushed and character developments dont sum up to much. I thought that 3rd prince was something....but hes just dumb.
Just completed it. And, wow. I thought it was going a certain way but it was a facade. Truly amazing but i wished that there was one more episode of peace.
I was contemplating whether to watch this drama or not as episodes in 70s seemed to be such a drag. However, I gave it a go and it is so addicting. Even these episodes dont seem to be sufficient. In most dramas there is forgiveness despite murders but here, Minglan takes 2 eyes for an eye and her husband always has her back despite her capability. The way this drama escalated was amazing, it was as if we saw her grow up and go through all the turbulences. Simply, outstanding. I will be sad once i finish it.
As I mentioned further down in my comment, I'm becoming more and more convinced that when the FL entered (in her…
Thats a really interesting interpretation. I reckon the same as the ML of modern world himself didnt show much arrogance compared to what his agent was portraying. I do hope the story flows this way.
And just to prove Liu Xue Yi's epic acting skills, in the scene where he goes to drink tea at his wife's palace,…
Thats so true!!! Im curious as to what role the other concubines have since nor does he care about them nor do they look useful...
Im a fan of Meng Xiyi and she has done a similar role in royal rumors. She would act frail and naive yet would scheme. This character though similar, is way more complex and forward.
Im looking forward for each characters motive and intricacy to unravel.
I was initially agitated with the harem but within 2 episodes in I realized the complexity of characters. This is supposed to be intense and deep rooted, not a mellow story. His main wife is an enemys daughter and she even mention he doesn't do affection. All of this adds to the complexity of his characters and will make his later on liking to the fl genuine and igniting. There will definitely be toxicity but this is a different story.....it has its own unwinding.
I know right, imagine the courage to pull this off for someone still so young.
Exactly, knowing how this would affect her, having no source of income, no home. The help she got from Sheng seems too calm for early episodes. I suspect she will go through more trials and that will push her towards a dance career....just speculations tho...
This is realistic in the sense that she chose the truth over futile forgiveness. Her misogynistic family tried to bury the truth and unlike other dramas where family and forgiveness wins, she took a stand against the betrayal. The emotions between the leads is amazing and I just hope there arent betrayals from Mumu.
