The plot of the show was how a person gets into a mess when that person is shamelessly cheating, this is what attracted everyone here. Having more than one partner without telling the other is cheating which she did at first and if they don't want to let go of her after discovering that then that accounts for toxic attachment and also upto a certain extent being a coward in case of her friend.
