Nobody should attack me on this. This is just my opinion but I feel like Dan represents people who would rather sit on the fence than actually pick a side. Why do I say this?
Dan knows firsthand how corrupt the system is, and yet, he kept on working for that same system. Remember when Yok asked him this? Yok asked him how it's like being a person who runs from the cops yet being a cop himself. Dan's murals are all about exposing the corrupt system, and yet, he keeps on working for that same corrupt system and it's not like he's doing it for the money. He said himself that he makes more money from nfts than he does being a cop.
Another exhibit is him promising Sean that he would do anything to make things up to him for killing his dad and then pulling a gun at sean (who was unarmed) the very next day and then, minutes later helping the gang escape. He's a person who has a hard time standing firm on decisions he's made. He seems confused on what to do most of the time and I just think that is very human of him.
Imo, what he needs is help. He needs to step back from everything and get some help. Therapy would do him some good, he needs to get his thoughts straight and figure out where exactly he stands. He can't keep on being for both sides.
Dan's character points out that a person can't realistically be for both sides, no matter how hard they try. You gotta pick one. Dan is going through a very hard time right now. He must feel so damn bad and guilty for disappointing the gang, especially Yok and Sean. And now that he's helped the gang escape, he just put himself in more trouble and I just feel like, all this could've been avoided if he just quit being a cop.
He probably thought he could do both things. But what he didn't realise, was that one day, he'd still have to choose and he had to in last week's episode. But, all this doesn't really make him a bad person. He doesn't deserve to die for this (I really hope the director doesn't go through this route). He just needs help.
This is just my opinion on things, if you have a different view, you can simply say them. I'd like to hear them but please, say it in a respectful way.
As someone who’s from the start been a big fan of Dan’s and Yok’s characters, I’ll share a few random…
This is one of the best takes on Dan. One thing i like about not me is how realistic the characters are. I too was expecting Dan to have something up his sleeve: to choose a third, impossible option but the truth is, he's human at the end of the day and even though atm I'm frustrated at him, i can't help but admit that.
I see people asking who fell first: Sean or white. To me, i can't really say but I feel there was attraction from White's end the first time he saw Sean. Attraction (not necessarily love) at first sight is a real thing and i like to believe he was physically attracted to Sean the first time he saw him. As for Sean, i like to believe he started liking White when White told him that his life is worth more than he thinks (the time the group orchestrated a fake ambush to test white)
I'm only on ep 2 and i already consider this to be on the top of my list of favorite kdramas. I like everything about it, the cast, the characters, and its actually funny - it isn't forced at all. I can't count the number of times i just burst out laughing. Plus shin ha ri and jin young seo's friendship is so cute!
A particular scene was ruined and i just know that when i watch scene tomorrow, it's not gonna have much of an effect on me because i already freaking knew it would happen and I am just so upset!
So on my tl on twitter, there are a lot of people sharing the ep 6 leaks and im just in disbelief at how people can be. One person who spread it was like, "if i had to see it so should you" and got a lot of retweets and likes and this is why I usually don't like people. They're so disappointing 😑
