Well if you've seen the anime it should be similar

That one is about a wandering samurai that offers to protect and help people because of his dark past when he was a killing machine during this time he meets Kaoru Kamiya, her dad opened an kendo school in Tokyo and she is now an instructor there. After he saves her she ends up inviting him to stay in her dojo and their relationship develops further but his dark past holds him back still....You should check it out :3

Rurouni Kenshin was a pretty good Japanese movie also^^ It has one of my favorite Japanese actors Sato Takeru
