They did not consider their daughter’s well being and you said it was the norm- no it is not. I still stand by my view that the parents were completely selfish in wanting the daughter to do what they want. Plus she was an adult - she was not a teen. The fact that they let her starve locked up in a room is not at all right - they were majorly responsible for her depressive state and that is not what a loving parent does. Hitting an adult child , taking her phone and not letting her out of the house - are all signs of abuse no matter what the reason is. With regards to status - the mom was only worried about status - she’d never cared about what her daughter wanted . What love was there - all BS. They should have let her figure out her life. This kind of ‘ parental love’ does not help anyone.And even from a parent’s point of view it is not right - especially from a parent’s perspective - it is wrong

After rewatching many times it’s perfectly clear that LX tried to explain many times in different ways but was shut down. Gao never admits he is wrong and does not like suggestions. I won’t blame ZY - she had just joined the base. He is actually happy when LX does not show up -why- because the glory will be his. So for such people getting them to fail is the only medicine but of course with Gao even that does not work

Rewatching again and wow it’s as amazing as the first time. Forever love is too simple compared to this. The complexity and depth of this story is what works here. I will be stuck in this loop for a few more months until something really excellent comes on. Even then I will definitely revisit this drama multiple times in the future.
