this is the first drama I watched where the male lead, the king lets his woman be BEATEN UP even if he could have the power to stop it. awfuuul, I wasted so many hours from my life. DO NOT watch this drama if you cannot emotionally tolerate women being raped and beaten up by the male lead. I am angry with myself for the wasted hours of my life. I should start watching movies from now on. Instead of 50-episodes long drama, and halfway, when you already wasted so much time watching the drama, you see the story turn into more abnormality and absurdity
About miscommunication in the middle of the drama:
I watched 24 eps and I got so frustrated that I dropped this drama. Ming Yi is supposed to be the heroine but the whole show is located in the male lead's abyss, with male lead's storyline mostly. Love takes over Ming Yi completely, dragging out the drama, Male lead's feelings cannot be compared to Ming Yi's. He lost trust (due to miscommunication) so he moves on like nothing happened (ok, a bit sad). Male lead's world revolves around his master. Ming Yi is obviously second to him....... I wasted so much time. and I don't want to hurt feelings I see how many of you love this drama. The writing and direction could have been better.

Yes I suggest that you watch it. (It will be enjoyable I guarantee that, so don't regard it as a forced obligatory thing). In the meantime, I dived into the novel - series correlation and I found out that it is quite a loose adaptation. There is no time travel in the series but it revolves around intelligence agencies (that is not included in the novel as far as I know) To conclude, it is inevitable to watch PA.
If anyone know...do I need to watch the drama 'princess agents' before this? Some noted that the drama was different…
Have you read the novel? Though I haven't read the novel but I watched PA, and I remember people saying in the comment section that it follows the events of the novel more or less. With some exceptions maybe. PA has an open ending, the story is supposed to continue in this drama. So I recommend watching PA before the airing of this show. Though it ends with a cliffhanger, the journey is amazing and the storyline of Rebirth picks up right after the Ice Lake scene (as seen in the trailer), which is the last scene in PA.
I am in ep 26. About the princess and the emperor...
I actually ship the princess and Emperor of Jinxiu. Both of them are crazy so they are a good match. While the princess slaps the emperor and sets up boundries all the time, the emperor tells her in the face that she is pathetic and childish. They complement each other.

I don't really remember the ending, but it was not a bad ending. It was between a happy ending and open ending (for the main leads, beautiful happy ending for the second leads). Some people loved the main couple, some think they lacked sexual chemistry. Others were cheering for the second couple (including me). Some enjoyed the adventure. It depends on your personality and taste what group you belong to. People here are from different cultures, with different backgrounds, age brackets, values etc. You should see it for yourself. You can fastforward or drop it if it is not to your liking.
How is the romance in this drama? I do not mind subtle romance. Is the romance as less as that of “The Double”…
I haven't watched these dramas yet, but here the romance is mixed with adventure and actions. Not as heavy as seen in other popular romance dramas (like Eternal love or Crash landing on you, as I took a glance at your watchlist). The romance is heartwarming but the whole plot doesn't revolve around it. But I recommend giving it a try for the second leads. According to mydramalist community, this drama has the best secondry couple ever. They have their own love story that is - in my opinion - much sweeter and more passionate than the male leads'. They have their own discussion on mydramalist, a community member even gathered all their scenes with timstamps so that fans are able to rewatch those scenes. All in all - give this drama a try.
I watched it. It was average. If you have nothing to watch, you can give it a try. But if you have high expectations regarding the storyline, want to be emotionally attached to the whole story, it might not be for you. I also think that the hidden identity/deceit theme was too frustrating to watch. I might have not watched if I could turn back in time. But I know some people are in love with this drama and say it is a masterpiece. for others it might be 10/10, but 6/10 for me.
The most memorable ones for me are from chinese dramas. Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (Dong Hua and the cute fox, Bai Feng Jiu, who got their own story), The Long Ballad (Hao Du army officer and Yong An princess).
I am not much of a fan of time splits, time travel or variation of the sort, but the premise of this drama sounded…
Actually I am dissatisfied with the fantasy part. A fantasy genre could be logical too. I was waiting for Lun Xu to gain the memory of the other Lun Xun's in the other world or hoping for the two worlds to merge, but it seemed impossible since the fantasy element only affected the FL. So , how could the FL see the future while the dream arch is due to the coma, for medical reasons - seeing the future has nothing to do with her surgery. Did she have supernatural abilities via dreams? If the writers flex the fantasy element a bit, I believe we could have merged both worlds somehow and there would be one Lu Xun only. both leads would have the same memories.
honestly the female lead was so desparate losing her dignity and composure all the time that I couldn't bear to watch aft 6 episodes, does she become less clingy later on?
I watched 12 episodes and I don't understand this unnecessary separation and the cold shoulder, it is not logical for me - they get back together while nothing has changed - their status, their lifestyle, their life philopshy are unchanged
I don't remebmber which episode maybe 7-8, after the female lead was sent back to joseon, the male lead was so nice to that crazy qing princess bitch, and it annoyed me a lot!!! he played go with her many times and he didnt even push her away when she kissed him! like what, she wanted to kill your lover dude, she even shot you with arrow! I was so nervous to see them hanging out together
Does anyone have any idead why the male lead spent so much time with her and dint even push her away when she wanted to be intimate?
