Great start with stupid ending!! After participating in the beginning he knew many died. The main character voluntarily signed up for the second time just because he needed money. But once he won, he got angry by questioning the morale of the organizers! What a weird script!!
Can you imagine if it happened during a Korean idol interview with iheartradio or a talk show on Late Show with James Corden! James asked in English, they answered in Korean, can you imagine that? LOL
Respecting the mother tongue is good, but the situation has to be adapted. Set in 2092 but conversation like primitive people, using two languages! And this only exists in Korean cinema! How ridiculous!
The dystopian vision genre is wherever you are and everything you do is always tracked. Examples of recent Korean drama series for dystopia vision are Sisyphus: The Myth and Sweet Home. And examples for Hollywood movies are The Matrix, The Hunger Games, Snowpiercer and Elysium. This drama is not included at all! #sorry2say
"But what is the true purpose of this drama, other than the unique verdicts and trials of most legal dramas?"Ji…
Oh dear, there are so many crime dramas, similar legal dramas, and the message is even better than this. And for this type of dystopian vision drama is not even included. Because the dystopian vision genre is wherever you are and everything you do is always tracked. Examples of recent Korean drama series for dystopia vision are Sisyphus: The Myth and Sweet Home.
Crime drama packed in a dystopian vision where people live under a highly controlled, totalitarian system but no CCTV or drones to investigate even from the very beginning of the episode! It makes this drama look ridiculous!
By the way, SoHyun's character is more like Grasshopper, made just as a nuisance, not important at all!
I admit, Korean filmmakers do have an unusual brain. They adopt a very long Sentence at the beginning of the story, which several times in the US carries a sentence of up to tens of thousands of years. But what is the true purpose of this drama, other than the unique verdicts and trials of most legal dramas? 12 episodes have passed, I can't get anything interesting from this series. Jisung's acting that often looks coquettish even though he's angry or Minjung's acting that looks the same as other dramas doesn't give this drama a new feel at all. Jin-young's acting? Mmm, maybe it's just his handsome face that makes this drama look interesting. I cut a lot of scenes! #justsaying
Not so long ago the United States was racist towards Asians, especially towards those with fair skin and slanted eyes and it was very painful. But in Asia itself, namely Korea with SBS as a pioneer, doing the same thing to other Asian countries, namely Indonesia. Indonesia is not a perfect country, and maybe the world only knows Jakarta and Bali, Indonesia does not have an entertainment industry like global Korea, but it is still a country with a population of more than 250 million people, and many Korean entertainment lovers from there. If Koreans can get angry with something that demeans them, how much more other countries. This is not true, this is racist and vilifies Indonesia, even though this is just a drama, it still creates outside opinions that judge Indonesia as very bad in every way. Korean entertainment has gone global and that is enough to make Indonesia's reputation very bad in the eyes of other countries! Imagine if your country was also insulted? I admit that Korea is the fastest country to become a developed country in every way, but they have no right to look down on other countries!!
If Korean artist got banned because of bad background as a bully! But why does the Korean entertainment industry feel entitled to oppress other countries in their content? It's called double standard!
Indonesian netizens must make a Petition to SBS and the Korean government, they must apologize officially and change episode 5! This is racist and demeaning to Indonesia, do they know Indonesia with a population of almost 250 million people, of whom there are more than 100 million who are active on the internet and half are Korean lovers? Imagine if they were angry? FYI, the Indonesian market is the biggest goldfield of the Korean entertainment industry in the world! Let's make this viral!!!
And the rating says everything, don't compare Racket Boys to the drama Prison Playbook which clearly has Lee Woo-jung's golden hand as a writer on PP! #JustSaying But I think you better compare Racket Boys to Hot Stove League dramas, both are SBS productions. Not even close to the excitement of the Stove League. I told you, This drama was saved by four charming young actors!
It seems like maybe slice of life isn't your cup of tea :). This plot is about the growth of the racket boys as…
I love the Prison Playbook and have watched the series many times. PP was written by Jung Bo-Hoon but don't forget there's Lee Woo-jung too. That's why it produces excellent dramas similar to other Woo-jung dramas like Hospital Playlist and Reply. And don't get me wrong, I love this drama, especially its four charming young cast! PP focuses on prison life, prison officers and the romance of the main star, for the other life is very minimal, in contrast to Racket Boys, all aspects are highlighted like the main story!
Badminton team in danger of disbandment, disqualification from the game, lack of members, lack of funds, spouse who wants to commit suicide, parents who miss grandchildren, neighborly life, father who is a coach and has no motivation but tries hard to look funny, all look like the main characters. I'm confused, what exactly is this drama trying to highlight, the plot is a mess! Are my expectations too high for this series??
I just watched episode 5.
After participating in the beginning he knew many died. The main character voluntarily signed up for the second time just because he needed money.
But once he won, he got angry by questioning the morale of the organizers! What a weird script!!
The ending is very disappointing!!!

Every move is detected, living under a controlled totalitarian system.
They failed to make this drama with dystopian vision!!!!
