This isn't a romance focused drama at all, it isn't in the genre. Even I wanted something romantic happen, even if it didn't, why does it matter?
People want independant female leads in the drama, yet one drama that actually captures the essence of an independant women and how she handles the problems life throw at her, people just want romance. I hope someday this commentors mature enough to understand that not all drama need to have a romance for it to turn out good. I am glad they didn't give some kiss at the end, it was never romanced focused, and it shouldn't be towards the end.

It was one of the best of 2026, and I'm glad to not trust mdl ratings and bad reviews here, because people come in with far greater expectations which to be honest, i think will never be satisfied.

​I love all the characters so freaking much. I love how it showed that the people around you and the circumstances you are in make you the person you are. I love that some characters got character development while some stayed true to who they were. I love the relationship dynamics of the Marquis family. The way the second male lead loved the female lead, and yet in the end accepted his wife, was so damn beautiful.
​The best historical second male lead award goes to Xu Zhenxuan! His character was so charming—not the least bit annoying, damn cute, and so sincere. Not to mention, his acting in the funeral episode stole the whole show!! Even the antagonists acted so damn well! I loved how the characters weren't just plain villains, but morally grey. None of them were born evil; it was the various situations they went through that became the reason they chose the wrong path TT.
​And Grandma! That’s how you spill tea. She just slayed that confession.
​Each and every actor nailed it!! Especially Zhou Ye and Xu Kai 🫶
​To be honest, the amount of "I love" I have written in this review is enough to convey what I feel about it.
​So please give it a chance! It’s a historical drama that is perfectly paced and never boring. Not one boring episode!
​This is definitely one of the best-written historical dramas to date! It’s a 1000/10.

This drama is so damn good. I love when there are flawed characters who don't take stupid decisions but decisions based on what they're feeling and the situation they are in. I love how this drama portrayed that even when you show you care, you show your love, you can hurt your loved ones by your words which is like a knife in their heart. It showed that not apologising and constant snarky remarks can affect a relationship very badly, and its this small things which can affect your relationship. I love how there was no side couple but each character has a part to play in this beautiful love story of leads. Every bit of drama seemed realistic and raw. Romance drama is often a place that people choose to escape from reality but sometimes stories like this point out what's actually important in life. I got nothing bad to say about its drama. Its unique storyline, acting of all the actors, cinematography, osts and theme speaks millions already. This is drama that people may not like right now, but will definitely cry and swoon over at some point in their life. ❤️😭

i love everything about this drama, different characters, roles reversed, mature characters and amazing story line, nothing dragged out. I love how Si Woo's character was different than all other office romance's male lead, he had a reason behind his personality and his change. The female lead was so good, I loved the way she laughed. I am so damn proud of myself for not taking mdl rating and reviews seriously because I could have missed a gem. THIS IS THE BEST OFFICE ROMANCE DRAMA TILL NOW. Even better than business proposal in my opinion. Felt butterflies and felt even more single lol

The series was far better than webcomic so I'm actually glad I have seen both. The series has great pace, included all important parts of the story and did not make any significant change which is a very good thing. The webcomic of this drama ended in a rush with very bad romantic development so I'm very impressed with the series, I love how perfectly actors fit into their characters and awesome acting

I loved this drama, and i especially loved how complex the characters were. People don't like how the female lead was cold and male lead was just giving it all, but its because of her cold side and male lead could stay by her side till the end. She didn't show how sad she was going to get when he would die early, so he could her love her till the end guilt-free rather than separating himself from her like other historical drama. I also loved prince xin and his redemption arc. Every character was complex, amazingly written and beautifully designed. This drama tops all the other historical drama i have watched till now. Best male and female character written till now, amazing storyline, Great ending and beautiful cinematography ❤️😭

The best thing in this drama is that characters actually behaved like "ADULTS"
There was damn good communication, understanding, giving the space one requires, supporting them in their decisions all the characters were great, especially main leads whose characters were deep and complex
Even after the truth came out about wang fa's investigation, wangxing handled it very maturely
the writing was simply amazing. To some people it may not standout as much, but to find no huge flaws in writing and plot is as much as an achievement itself
