Episode 9 was one of the best one's out there. All of them were vulnerable and strong in different ways . The OST's were amazing. The plot is thickening . How am i supposed to go through this two epiosdes at a time ?*wails* Also, I called it on Yeon deliberately missing Rang . Hades granny appears evil to me, Im not even sure why i feel like that. I'm probably wrong
the only thing i liked in BOF was his love story with the FL's friend... i dropped the drama midway but fast forwarded…
ooh I plan to watch search too. I've become super picky with my dramas , if there is love geometry involved or weak whining leads i drop it in a minute.
i loved both ep 7 and 8... 8 was more action-packed and a bit creepy as well... the scene were jiah watches her…
Lee Rang does behave like a brat at so many points , but actually this is one of the few properly done backstory for why he is still on puberty and being clingy.
He not only had a mother who tells him that he is a mistake , tells him she has consistently tried to kill him before he was born, let villagers hurt him and abandoned him in a forest full of starving zombies. He clearly has never met his Dad , and the only role model in his life is Yeon. Plus as a half breed , he has a foot in both world's and yet doesn't fit into either entirely . From Rang's view Lee Yeon's the only person who ever accepted him as he was , paid him attention and gave him a safe space . Then Yeon goes off to fight the Imoogi, freezes time and is punished into working as as supernatural bounty hunter. Meanwhile humans set fire to his only home, he's watching animal friends die and is helpless all over again. The next time they meet , Yeon cuts him open with a sword. He's also roughly I think about 600 odd years younger that Yeon. So for me , he gets a pass on being bratty. I've seen far worse brats with NO backstory that explains it at all.
Agree. I was like, is the imoogi guy sporting a pinkish lip gloss wth???lol I am getting distracted so I need…
i will never look at imoogi the same way again. He looked decent in the all black outfit he had on as first adult. It's strange cause all the others looks are on POINT .

same . They were so adorable together , and i kept fast forwarding and just watching youtube clips of them too, when he walked in straight from airport to the primary class where she was teaching pottery , my heart was goo. Still a favourite scene
Is it just me who think Kim Bum's doing a great job in this drama? I really didn't care much about him in BoF.…
He owns the role as broken bad boy with issues . Given the backstory especially , I can see why. So far they've done a really great job showing him as a layered character. Even in BoF , i actually didn't like the leads at all, and kept fast forwarding stuff to watch him and Gaeul and his story. They were so damn cute there
I'm so glad that Lee Yeon chose to help Lee Rang...it would have been so heartbreaking if he never helped him...but…
I screamed when he picked rang , cause I had all my fingers crossed . It's like he knew this would be the true breaking point. Thr way he called Rang kid again *sobs*. Plus that closing scene with them standing back to back together was amazing.
I love the FL too. iunno what show others are watching but it's FL in this show that's razor sharp, gutsy and,…
You saod everything thats been in my brain from the start. She's not here to fit into anybody's defenition of what an Fl should and shouldn't be. Shes smart, driven, thinks on her feet , is edgy yet kind
Yeah for me i am not surprised since i have been watching dramas for more than 10 years and the group "lets hate…
Exactly. If she'd been shy and terrified and a shell of a person after the taruma of her parents death, people would've critized her for being weak and dumb. Now they give you an edgy , sharp, risk taker with zero bullshit , curious lead , still complain She works 22 hours a week as a tv show director , of course she's not going to be fancy dressed and cutesy.
I'm about 1/2 way through , and it has more chemistry ,than romance . It's in witty banter, and completing sentences and building trust sorta thing. Also , I love how this drama shows how chemistry is more than just the actors- it's the way the characters are written.
I'm relatively new to the rabbit hole that is Asian drama , but this whole strong /weak female idea is fascinating. You're absolutely right in that the focus should be on creating realistic women , and ones that showcase an actual partnership between the man and the woman . For me , strength is when the girl is not an add on to the story , or a 2D figure , but some body who is whole , flaws and all. In any drama I want a fl , not a doormat . Or if she starts out as one , but grows a backbone I'm all for it . Sadly , from what I've seen, the reverse is more common , she has a backbone , and then it melts away to a pile of goo.
I'm probably in the minority , *please don't kill me * , but I didn't enjoy Boys over flowers , or at least the male leads . In fact I kept praying that the focus would shift to Ga eul and yi jeong . For me , she went from a sweet cute girl , to somebody who pushed him to face harsh truths , and called him on his bullshit. I would love to watch their story .
My fav fav fav pick of a strong fl is from an older kdrama called fantasy couple . She's one of the few fl who has retained her prickly , strong and yet surprisingly sweet personality throughout the show .
My current favourite pick in kdrama land is Circle . While the plot has a bromance at its core , the story also actual has a solid fl who is not just an additional decorative element. And it has the added value of showing truly platonic male -female bonds . It's in the few moments that she does break down , that make the show amazing . Because in reality , we don't have the luxury of weeping over the little things .
Another one I've really enjoyed was Hello Monster . The fl is tough as hell , but to me her strength came from her ability to empathise with the ml , and when she wasn't afraid to put him in his place . I still have withdrawal feels from both of these dramas .
