They were on the same page till she left to meet the consort, then before leaving he noticed the hairpin she was wearing and asked abt it and she said she feels protected with it and goes, while waiting for her to come back he suddenly realises that she might use the pin to threaten the consort so when she comes back smiling he guesses that she might hv done that and that action might bring harm to his family, so that furiates him, thats why he had the extreme reaction on the rooftop Atleast thats what i understood with his little change in expressions while he was waiting for her, (.but this actor needs to improve i feel)
Well though started like TD can't compare it with The Double, this is unique in its own way FL did well, never liked her previous performances but this one suited her👌 ML seeing him for the first time here, had something missing all the time in his face, felt expressionless the most part of the story but thats just how i felt Romance wasnt suited to the story premise with both leads having heavy baggages, so though disappointing it felt ok It a good revenge story to binge watch 👍

Apart from her saying yes to her mother when she asked if she has feelings for him and him confessing he cares for her to Mufeng and small gestures here and there no significant development is shown for their relationship except discussing things on their schemes and as u said they cant explore much with little episodes left, At an earlier episode when FL was pffering her and he said he was never a gentleman i had hopes that romance part will not fall short, but no he remains a gentleman not showing any sign of attraction hmm it s loss in the romance dept of this series

I havent seen any of his previous works but what you are saying is so apparent in the last three episodes , he is rather seem expressionless with only few episodes left i dont think thats going to change, I suppose this ML might do good just in action scenes
