I feel like it really just depends on the fandoms 😅 If fandoms are quick to axe out any age bashers, it dies quickly. I don’t recall seeing any age complaints here. I feel like for Reba there’s always some sort of complaints for no reason

To me it was Xiao Xun and Xie Yan Fang. Yan Fang was just more calculating than everyone else. He was good at using his looks and charms 🙈 His charms worked on me lol

The only time she confirmed for us viewers to see they were working together was the Jingzhou arc and Deng Yi gave up some of his corrupted pupils for their teamwork. After that he went off against her again 🥲

No love triangle (ml’s half brother falls for her super late in the drama and didn’t even know it himself until the end)

Feels like they never “got together” with words but actions? First hug in ep 8 and first kiss in ep 10. Lots of chemistry early on, the way he looks at her and she looks back, lots of eyes doing the talking

One misunderstanding that’s cleared up within two episodes because of miscommunication like all Cdramas

Happy ending with two children

To me it’s because he continued to betray her each time she thought he was on her side. She can’t have someone like that around the young emperor, someone who would betray and go join a different side as soon as they offer something a bit better. His loyalty always waver

Those glances (he literally started to see her all glowing and shiny like how they show us viewers how Yan Lai sees her from his point of view) and touches (and then when he got on his knees on the dirty pavements to put her shoes on her) were all signs for us viewers that he’s in love. But dude was so blind to it until his end in the last episode

He likes her but didn’t know he likes her that way until the end 😅 He thought it was just because she was interesting, different and smart minded like him. When his noble and mighty self got down on his knees on the dirty pavement and put her shoes on her, that’s when it shows us viewers he was in love but he was blind to it until the end
