woah, so I read that he watched this movie with his family or sum. 3 years ago I watched a video on YouTube about this case and honestly I totally forgot how they catched him (I watched this movie two days before so yeah I now realized that I heard about this case before watching this), I'll watch this video again maybe tomorrow and i can give you an answer :'] Or if you have time you can watch one yourself there are plenty of videos about this case on yt
The movie was based on a true case of a serial killer who was found in 2019 and the movie was made in 2003. So according to this, the author of movie didn't know who the actual killer was. I think that the person with soft hands was just similar and maybe the killer wanted police to think that he was the murder, to distract them from himself. He wanted them to think that this person was the murder looking at the fact he was "ordering" this one song every rainy day. it was just his clever idea. And according to the movie I think the rapist of this woman was also the serial killer, she was just lucky that she survived (if we can say that this is luck). The main character looking in the last scene deep into our eyes highlights the fact that this murderer is among us, or is one of us. I read somewhere that the real murder of the cases which were a base for this film, actually watched this movie
