I'm at Episode 38 now and whoever wrote the description on the Viki page must have fun spoiling stuff, because I still haven't reached the part they wrote about yet.....
Finished this & it was painful! I should've seen your guide before starting it hahaI had a question about Minho...I…
It's been so long since I've watched it, but if I remember correctly I also thought the same, so I don't think your reading too much into it. Also congratulations for making it through ;D
Just watching the first 2 episodes I have to say Guns acting had me surprised. I usually don't have high expectations, since I know they mainly cast rookies for these kind of series, but seeing a main role with nice acting skills really makes a difference.
Dropped at ep20 I really don't like the female lead. I don't know if the character was written that way, but why must she cry or look like she's going to cry all the time. The way all the others describe her as being strong and a real general doesn't make sense when she looks like a lost puppy 24/7. I really wished they would match the child actors way of acting more with the adults or the other way around. The other female lead is more tolerable, but the way she talks with her lisp is so distracting and makes it hard to focus when she's on. Also I wish they would have kept it down with the forecasting that Yi Bang-won is going to turn evil, it took away the tension as I could pretty much predict where the story was going and just made me lose interest. I really love historical dramas and almost everyones acting is on point, but this one was sadly not for me.
Am I the only who thinks this show is a mess. The acting is honestly quite bad (even for rookies), the plot has many holes and the script is also super cringey (even for GMM standards) I feel like people only give it a pass because it's BL.
-Season 2 was really good, but in the end I felt a few things were left unfinished, I'm glad they at least cleared some stuff in season 3
-Season 1 was good, but it was just too focused on Win IMO
-Season 3 was nice, but I was kind of missing the excitement. Compared to the other season the acting and the overall character development weren't as good as before. So rather than giving me some thrill it had more of a cute feeling towards it, which some might prefer, but for me it was a bit disappointing, since it wasn't what I was expecting it to be. I still recommend it though.
Overall I really loved the series and will really miss it.
is it necessary to watch previous seasons to enjoy this drama?
You don't have to watch the previous seasons to understand, since they do flashbacks to help you understand them. But the reason I recommend you to watch the other seasons is because I do think they were better than this one, from acting to story to character development. In my opinion season 2 is the best, but for that one you should watch season 1 first ;D
