First and foremost, in case you can not read and understand properly, I explained in my previous post that I like Xiao Zhan (which you are also absolutely FREE to do too because it's your RIGHT to like whomsoever you want), however, I was questioning whether or not, you are commenting that you like the drama ONLY because you like XZ, or that you like the drama, because, truly, it has an amazing script, cast and an excellent production.

Like I already said in my previous post, (despite having seen her cross dress in 2 different dramas, making this the third), at the end of it all, the main thing is for this drama to end up being good.
Unpopular opinion: I kept watching, mainly because of Runyu (Night Immortal / Fish Fairy). His story broke my heart. And to be honest, I prefer him a million times over the male lead.
I love Yang Zi and I've watched all her dramas since her days in Noble Aspirations, however, for this drama, I just do not get the hype. I watched 10 episodes, still, I could not get into it. Maybe it's the ML. I don't know. Or the script. Or one of those things I will simply call, 'not my cup of tea'.
Lastly, Yang Mi pretending to be a man and being the Emperor's guard, has she not played a role exactly like that before? In Legend of Fuyao. Where Vengo Gao, the emperor fell in love with her. She was his guard.
