his reason is that he has now developed a fear of losing her. all along he thought she was dead, but she turned out to be alive and severely injured. he saw her suffer by losing her five senses with his two eyes and already from that moment on he already made the decision to protect her. and this is the only way Xing Zhi can protect her. XingZhi knew that Shen Li is a straightforward person and she would do anything to make Fu Sheng disappear from the universe. XingZhi cannot afford for her to risk her life again, despite if its for the good of the Immortal Realm.

YouLan shouldn't have told the Heavenly Lord about Shen Li being locked up 😭 Sadly its part of the plot so we can't do anything about it. Most likely Shen Li would be out next episode, she definitely won't be in there for long
