I love Xi Wei been watching her since before her popularity but am I the only one that finds this a bit boring.…
Comparing POJ and this, is like comparing apples to oranges. A modern youth romance drama won't be as dramatic as a historical piece, with probably a lot more going on in the background besides the romance, so it's not as "boring".
This sounds like its not your type of drama, i think where the mask ends will probably be more interesting for you. Or maybe keep an eye out for the winner next year, that would be more exciting, although its not entirely romance centred.
I agree. In my opinion, he is not a good friend, especially in the first 5 or 6 episodes.
Oh yikes π¬ that hand holding scene on the drop tower was actually one of my favourite parts of episode 7 π I guess everyone experiences things differently π
I did see some criticisms about how some scenes felt artificial to some but also how the director was pursuing a dreamcore style of filming.. which I guess I quite like π

Hmm i think hyt is doing a sufficient job atm, not great but also not terrible π
I've rated it an 8 and above because I enjoy txw's acting, the story telling and the focus on family and friendships.
It's an assemble cast too, so romance here can take a backseat for now. That being said, I do think I'm slowly warming up to hyt with each passing episode π
The cinematography is beautiful and the ost for me is amazing too. I would probably save the playlist and relive the memories of watching this drama everytime I listen to it. This has alot of rewatch value for me, so it ranks highly.
No hardfeeling. A penny for your thought. If it's not HYT, can you think any other male lead that suitably match…
Wang Anyu π in real life txw and way are both very good friends, they have a lot of chemistry together and are both highly intelligent. There's a lot of their clips circulating online from their treasure hunting variety show. Hyt is doing a great job so far, but I also can't help but think if way was in this, the result would be crazy π
I am dropping the drama at ep 4, should I pick it up for the brother? saw so many sweet clips in Tiktok. ughh…
It's ok to drop it if you're not vibing with the story. It's a youth, coming of age campus drama, so a lot of the themes and messages are focused on adolescence and school life. So naturally, the earlier parts will appear childish, since they are still kids lol
There are other more mature dramas focused on family if that's your thing. At some point the story picks up and goes into adulthood, but don't waste your time if this is not your jam.
Jiang Yubai is not actually explaining everything for Lin Zhixia, just pointing out at what she did not understand…
Actually, I don't get that vibe π It just feels like a friend giving honest advice.
As we can see, Jyb does have a higher eq, so it makes sense that he has a better grasp on the situation. I think it just shows how good of a match they are. Lzx isn't a perfect human being despite her high intelligence, so where she lacks, Jyb makes up for it and helps her out.
Episodes 13 and 14, again was very entertaining π The show gets better with every episode. I am loving all of lin zhi xia's outfits... they're super cute π
guys iβm currently at eps 9 and idk why this drama has such a low ranking! iβm enjoying it so much!!! its…
There was already hate and black marketing even before the drama was released and some people just making baseless judgements and criticisms based on 30 second clips. You can tell they haven't properly watched the episodes, because their understanding of the characters appears to be very superficial.
I agree with you. Maybe I've just watched too many C-dramas at this point, but I find the plot of this one especially…
I hear you, I've struggled with social anxiety at different times in my life, so I understand that lin zhi xia overcoming it so quickly and easily, may seem overly simplistic.
From my understanding of txw's recent interview, I don't think the drama means to mininise or diminish the difficulties young people have with fitting in. It was filmed with the intention to encourage younger audiences who may identify with these issues, and to give them hope and optimism for the future.
Iβve seen people on here and other platform talking about too much school setting, filler, etc. but Tian Xiweiβs…
I feel bad for xiao tian, hopefully she'll be able to move past all the hate and criticism about her character and on the drama.
I'd hate to see her sincerity and good intentions being stepped on and diminished by haters, their vile comments and their negativity. Since day 0, they've been nitpicking on every single thing including personal attacks, from the ai, her bangs, her looks, her age, her intelligence, and a lot more. I know she's such a strong lady, but still, seeing such vile comments online must still hurt π’
Is it really worth spending 28 episodes on a coming-of-age romance we've already seen countless times?Genius Girlfriend…
Yes i think it's worth it π Everyone has their own preferences and it may be more meaningful to others and less to some.
I don't watch a lot of coming of age dramas so, " already seen countless of times" doesn't apply to me, and I'm sure for some others as well.
I appreciate slow burn, slice of life stories and seeing our teenage characters mature into adults. I like that each episode has a different theme, story and a message at the end. I don't just see this as a show purely about romance, it's also about our characters building meaningful friendships, strengthening family bonds, overcoming obstacles and becoming better versions of themselves.
I guess the show's "slower pace" for me is a good reminder to just take it easy, slow down and appreciate the simple joys in life. This show has given me a few nice, heart warming and funny moments and that's enough to keep me going π
Yes, it obvious the haters/trolls are downvoting this drama for whatever reason. Usually they are at least brave…
It's quite bad on chinese social media, especially on xhs and weibo. There's a full fledged hate campaign, just trolls picking on everything and trying to bury this drama π
I think people don't realise how sensitive and fragile the egos of teenagers are, just because we are all grown ups and we are judging them through the lens of an adult.
Even as grown ups, we can still experience insecurities especially when we are measured up to others who are brilliant and good at everything they do. This happens at the work place too, and throughout stages of our lives.
I see the ML struggling with his feelings for the FL, like wanting to be helpful and a friend for her, but at the same time wanting to prove himself, and to be on even grounds with her. This is more realistic right? Rather than having a perfect ML right from the get go...

Anyway, i don't think any drama now can escape attacks. People just seem to want to shoot everything down. They can't stand seeing others doing well.
