Not at all. He never lost focus or become a simp. The romance is a sub plot and the FL only became more relevant to the story at around episode 30. Although I wished they show us a bit more of how the romance developed as it was a bit abrupt imo.

It was not an hallucination. It was the effect of the elixir that was given to him by Zhao. The elixir was made from the Gui seal. They become strong and invincible but the issue is that they later become uncontrollable and just kill anyone . Reason why the queen of dongxia sealed up the seal.
However the chamber where the Gui seal is sealed was made such that if someone stay there for a while, it causes hallucination and one will start seeing what looks like ghost soldiers fighting . Even though the person is not fighting anything. This was how Zhao killed himself.
What a masterpiece. Stayed up late to watch the ending episodes. This is the kind of drama that deserves a 9. Hope the ratings go up than the current 8.6.Let me catch up on some sleep.
