i think it was mostly to monitor XC when LF is away from his house, cause in the scene he was looking for XC , he couldnt find him anywhere in the house and i think there are no camera in the bathroom otherwise he would have seen XC in the bathtub

the bird cage in XC room was very interesting, showing XC is trapped in LF housse like a bird. i like the way the production added small details with meaning.
