To be honest, it didn't pick up for me even after couple more episodes and I ended up dropping it. I think it was more interesting in the beginning than towards the end.
I wish the ending was a bit longer. It wrapped up way too fast. There wasn't enough time for the main male lead to realize he actually fell in love with the ugly duckling. hahaha.
If you can stand the bad acting, it's actually ok. I am someone who can't continue watching a drama if its' boring/frustrating/plain stupid and I finished this drama... so yeah.

Both of you have your own opinion, I have mine. I started watching this series because I saw a lot of cute snippets on Viki. Honestly, I was squealing with excitement in the first 5-6 episodes too. I too love watching cute/cheeesy love stories and have seen many. I was totally ok with Shao Xi relentlessly chasing Li Zheng. But, what I absolutely could not stand was the fact that he did nothing openly to pursue her till the very end (well.. up to ep 13 anyway - thats where I stopped).
Yes, there was some jealous moments, but is it really love? I mean... I would be jealous if MY dog, who has been mine since the beginning, starts wagging its tail for someone else. I would also be jealous, if my best friend of 10 years, finds another best friend and hangs around with her more than me. It's normal to be jealous of the people/things around you that you are so used to. In this series, Shao Xi is the first person Li Zheng sincerely makes friendship with and can connect to. So, ofcourse, he would be jealous and try to split Shao Xi and Jin Li, in fear of losing his one and only friend.
Let me ask. What exactly did he do to confess his love? The only thing he did was go back through his memories and imagine how it would've been if he confessed earlier. Like seriously?
Anyway, I think im just annoyed because im putting myself in her shoe. If I (a very proudful woman) put in that much effort to love someone and cannot feel his love at all, I would let go.
I watched this straight after A Love So Beautiful. Biggest mistake ever. I gave A Love So Beautiful a 9.5, however, I had to drop this one at ep 13 and a rating of 7.5. I could only manage to get up to ep 13 because of the 2 very good-looking male leads.
The dramas is good for the first couple of episodes and then it does the whole 2 steps forward, 3 step backward play. It was more frustrating than watching Playful Kiss - atleast I managed to finish that one. THere are hardly any jealousy scenes from Li Zheng side which leads me to believe he does not like her in a romantic way. Yes, he cares for her as a family member, but, anymore than that.. I dont think so! There isn't even one scene where you can see him properly pursuing her.
If you have time to watch this bullshit, I suggest you go watch/re-watch A Love So Beautiful. Would not recommend it.
