In male-oriented dramas, the male lead gets all kinds of opportunities and support from various people—family, friends, mentors, and confidants—without anyone questioning if it's a "great male protagonist" story.
In contrast, if a female protagonist receives any help from a male character, the core and essence of the drama are questioned. This itself is a form of female plight.
I had an epiphany: Duan Wu is like cattail grass, her fate drifting with the wind, but she is also like gravel, hard and clear-minded. Every character in The Story of Pearl Girl endures suffering; it is a drama filled with trials and tribulations.
That’s the general plot, she needs to embark her journey to become a very successful businesswoman by herself and reborn as su mu zhe, then will reunite with ML again.. i mean it’s literally chinese drama pattern 😅😅
