I finally finished it.To be honest, the series started off really strong. I was completely hooked. But in the second…
Xu yan’s family portrays a real parents in real life, very annoying parents that most asian children need to accept them no matter what, a phrase that i always hear in my daily life is ; “they are still your parents even though they’re the biggest villains in this world”.. so xu yan in this drama has come to the terms of “find peace for yourself, i will respect you as the elders but we won’t get too close either”
I can't say how disappointed I am with the character of Qiao Lin. She was introduced to us as such badass girl…
Well we agree that she’s a kind hearted girl, but don’t forget that she is not a smart girl that’s why she needs to study again and she has low self esteem too so yeah we all get annoyed at her
Watching it now and I have always loved ZL. I know she has retired considering her health issues, but for a 26…
She is not retired, only go hiatus for her health treatment and fighting her agency, she will come back filming drama again one day, maybe it will take years but it will happen because she has said that in live streaming
The heat is up 0.5637 3.1027 market share It’s really no.1 in satellites TV 😭 Dragon TV /Satellites TV rating Oct.14 approaching 3 % market share tomorrow is the finale on tv
no need to post this again, you already did it before
🫣🤣🤣🤣 who’s that? Trolls that copy paste? Or trolls that keep saying they dropped it but keep coming back to say they stopped watching over again and again?😆
Ep.28 kissing between Xu Yan and Hao Ming is so hot🔥🔥, I was touched to see the conversation scene between Xu Yan and Hao Chen, especially when Hao Chen took out the Bear Family drawing book drawn by Hao Chen, the lighting lamp drawn by Hao Chen for Xu Yan so that Xu Yan can come home one day, it was really touched, I was happy to see the sight of their happy family, but the angst will come in the next episode😭😭 poor little hao chen
Unusual Douban rating for Love’s Ambition: C-netz noticed a flood of fake one-star reviews https://www.tonboriday.com/2025/10/unusual-douban-rating-for-zhao-lusi.html
I am not surprised…. Douban is full Of lusi’s haters… they’re like that toxic reddit in international platform 😆
NOWNEWS [famous critics' forum] ko chih-yuan |drama review of love's ambition (许我耀眼) & zhao lusi's acting performance 💌
❝ it's difficult to watch love's ambition without being especially struck by the transformation in zhao lusi’s acting. it's a kind of emotional resonance that's hard to put into words. in a story built around the theme of "falsehood," the question posed within 「how fake is fake? 」 ends up testing the actress' craft with a more powerful challenge: 「how real is real enough?」
where did chen qian qian go? where did sang zhi go? zhao lusi, who grew up radiating cuteness, now goes toe-to-toe with an acting heavyweight like wen zhengrong and does so with equal force & poise, not the least bit outshined.
in the same setting, we're witnessing two top-tier actresses stepping boldly out of their comfort zones, letting years of quiet preparation burst forth into performances that feel like butterflies emerging from their cocoons.

the story also naturally evolves into an inspiring "strong female lead" narrative of a woman rising from the ashes. it's a feast of drama, one full and rich. what's most impressive is the control over tone. the strength and screen time of each dramatic beat are handled just right. at first, there was real concern that the show would linger too long on the "real identity" plot line. but the moment it makes its point, it swiftly moves on. each "suspenseful shadow" that follows is placed with striking precision for maximum emotional impact. it wasn't only technical storytelling but also tasteful drama. painful but not melodramatic. impactful but not exaggerated. truly worth its praise.

the show also spends a great deal of time exploring the constraints and emotional bonds created by one's original family (a popular theme in modern dramas). but love's ambition approaches this with rare depth and clarity. what's particularly refreshing is how the narrative gives space for both generations; the ones inflicting and the ones inheriting the pain. there's nothing black or white. that's exactly why the show doesn't devolve into a formulaic soap opera. the characters are refreshingly multidimensional (no cookie-cutter heroes or villains)
back to zhao lusi: it's hard not to focus on her remarkable growth as an actress. where did those old characters go? where is the sweet, bubbly girl from the romance of tiger and rose or hidden love? zhao lusi, who was once defined by her "cuteness", now holds her own in deeply emotional scenes alongside veterans like wen zhengrong! what a stunning evolution. ❞
Well, welcome to urban drama 🤗 seriously why you didn’t skip that dying part? They are introducing their…
I used 2x fast forward for those, sorry but not sorry, i know the drama team didn’t have options when it involved government , they needed to include those cultural arts in the episode
the series was great but i cant be the only one who thought they put too many things in the last few episodes...…
I get what you mean, that’s because this drama team collaborated with cultural dept, so they tried to introduce more about traditional clothing and the chinese culture, it consumed more episodes for that part so, when they jumped into makjang/melodrama in the last 3 episodes again, it seemed so rushed
so xu yan in this drama has come to the terms of “find peace for yourself, i will respect you as the elders but we won’t get too close either”
So plan C is the real one
