"By the middle of filming Dating in The Kitchen, Zhao Lusi hardly needed my help. As long as I gave her a little hint, she immediately understood what I meant. For earlier scenes, it was usually Lin Yushen who led her, since he's a very experienced actor. But for that particular scene, I told Lusi, "This scene has to be led by the female lead. You have to take control of the rhythm." I also told her, "Lusi, you need to understand. Once this scene is over, no matter how many lines he has, the audience will be focused on watching you, even if you don’t say a single word." That was all I said.
After we finished the scene, Lin Yushen came up to me and asked, “Did you secretly coach her or something?” He said that the rhythm of the entire scene was completely led by Lusi. All his emotions and reactions were following her lead.
