From the humble beginnings as a pearl slave in the small pearl market of Hepu, to being elected as the Leading Merchant of Yangzhou, my journey has been full of hardships, but it has also allowed me to grow and transform. Whether through laughter or tears, I will never forget.
Looking back on my time in the pearl market, where I spent every day by the sea, struggling with hunger and enduring humiliation, the only thing I could do was gather pearls day after day. It was during those days that I made a vow to escape, to seek the freedom I longed for, and to live a life of brilliance that belonged to me. And now, this moment is the best proof—I have made it.
Along the way, I have also made many friends who are like family to me—Xia Mi, Yun Xiu, the companions of the merchant group, Fifth A Zi, Lady Huang, the people at Ming Jing Tai, and the sisters of the Piaoping Society.
Without their companionship and support, my journey would have been even harder. To meet, know, and become close to them has been my great fortune. The countless unforgettable moments we've shared, the mountains and rivers we've crossed, and the seasons of life—I will forever hold them in my heart.
Mountains and Seas are boundless, but life is finite. Now, it is time for me to set off again~ To experience this vast world without restraint, that is the true freedom I desire.

Shang Xinyue: There is really a lot of energy that we can gain from #ZhaoLusi. On #TheStoryOfPearlGirl set, she's very dedicated to her work. She is always smiley towards everybody, which makes one feel that she's a Lil Sun ☀️
But it's actually very tough and exhausting for her on set. She has many scenes and needs to film basically every single day so it must be very tiring. Yet, whenever we're filming, she'll always be smiling at you and so you'll feel that she has a lot of energy. Not only as Ye Yunxiu, I personally have gained a lot from her. I'm still a new actress and she has taught me to confidently, bravely, and clearly express myself.
