Technically, this was supposed to be his arc and her learning one. She had that whole beginning arc in her village, where she was most comfortable, and the boss of. This is his arc and though the lying was stupid and unnecessary, teaching her how to fight and show her the ropes so she wouldn’t commit problems within the military. He’s not window dressing. He’s a man with several decades of fighting experience that they reduced to window dressing and it’s not fair. If they want to make it fair for women, then they should make it fair for the person whose niche this really is. Then after they move on from this arc to whatever the third one and the last one is then they are together as a unit. He is not “there to just be pretty.” That’s a very sexiest thing to say honestly. He didn’t get into the middle of her pig butchering business because he had no idea what it entails so why would she get into the middle of his military business and strategy and war when she had no one idea what it entailed other than brute force? I’m not saying she’s doing a poor job like today but it should be his time to shine as well.

I wrote my whole entire comment of what I thought as a general whole under someone else’s thread, but I saw from the little peekaboo that we got for tomorrow’s episodes that the little shit somehow gets free and we haven’t seen the second toxic couple in a while so it would be nice to get a little bit of them whatever the hell they are doing, but I would really like for the ML to start getting fighting scenes and though I understand the point of why she gets hers and today’s was great, and I really liked the cinematography of it. All it looked very real. Probably a lot of those explosions were and you saw the basics of what her father taught her. I do want them to be on an even keel if that’s where the story is headed for her becoming his wife and a general in her right. But they have to show him fighting like the multi decade Marquis that he is not just talked about as a legend as well in all of his strength because thus far we’ve only seen little skirmishes with him and it’s quite obvious that he is capable of much much more. So let’s hope once the Cold War between them is over and I am hoping the first half of tomorrow’s episode that we are back to this war and all of the other stuff that we still have to get done and figured out including the thing that happened 17 years ago.

Originally, I was going to write this as a separate comment, but since someone else already wrote it, I’m just going to comment below lol; I agree. He’s had his entire life training to be the general and the man that he is otherwise he wouldn’t be in control of three armies and all of a sudden here comes this young girl that has done nothing in her life, but butcher pigs and overnight she becomes this general genius that can’t read or write. I want to see the Marquis in full battle mode now! She has had her moments today’s episode was no exception, but enough of just seeing her fight, they need to show us his fighting skills the ones that they have spoken to us about and shown in small portions with relatively minor characters. It’s too much when you stick some thing on a character that’s technically does not have that background. It takes years and years to become a general of such capacity, even with her super strength she still needs to have the knowledge of what to do. The whole Mary Sue thing is definitely starting to come in strong and I hope in the next few episodes, we will finally see a taper down of that. Let the man fight since he obviously can and has been doing it. Hell it nearly got him killed in the first episode. He also can cook so give him some of those duties if they want, but I’m just getting these extreme like oh we’re just gonna make the man drugged or we’re going to just put him to the side and we’re just going to make her all of a sudden become this God is descended from the heaven warrior with no skill other than the little bit that she herself said “were basics taught by my father in the beginning.” I like the fact that she’s trying to learn as much as she can but I like dramas also that balance out the fighting between the ML and the FL together like let them fight as a unit. Like in Are You the One? They showed them with equal fighting skills and at the same time and helping one another and that’s the type of thing you want to see here as well.

Well that's kind of the reason it seems he was afraid to tell her who he was. I hope with tomorrow's Cold War, it won't last too long. They love each other enough to talk it through. They have a fish to cook over fire and he's going to confess his thoughts too. Like before meeting her, he was resigned to be killed on the battlefield and afterwards, he became a little bit afraid of death. That she brought a light into his life he didn't have.

Honestly, was that he was fearful. She wouldn’t care for his general identity self but only care about the week man she pulled out of the snow that was his reasoning.

Yeah, that’s not very normal. When you’re shipping someone who’s an abusive lunatic that kills people over literally nothing and terrorizes the woman he supposedly loves. Just to let you know there’s not gonna be a redemption and he will die as he should.

Of course they’re not a proper CP (no one wants that type of toxicity and evil psychopathic traits in someone plus they’re forced to be with) but the way the show portrays them is like an unconventional toxic CP. And they’re selling it so what can we do about it lol plus the actors totally click when they do interviews about their characters.
